who ever posts as .xxx made a point to clairfy to me that there was a lot more community support other than the poll. However the only other *proof* he could reference were "letters" ICM received from big industry companies and people. These "letters" were presented to ICANN as "proof" of support and then marked as confidential. So who knows their validity, but even worst we can't find out who these companies are that supposedly supported ICM and the creation of .xxx ICM also claims that the approval they needed came during the time period from 2001 - 2005.

Someone should sue to get those letters made public. Either they are fake and ICM should be exposed for fraud or the letters are real and the companies that supported this shit should be exposed.

So an anonymous poll and some confidential letters are the reasons why they got approval. How nice.

As this industry hemorrhages companies and people on a daily basis, the last thing I would want is the majority of my revenue to come from b2b ad sales, a publication that depends on a reader base to drive said sales and industry shows/events.

Companies go out of business. Less buying ads. Most of the companies that remain in business are cutting back, spending money to try to advertise to affiliates stops.

Less people in the industry, less readers, less hits, lets ROI on purchasing ads. Same things goes for the shows.

The future doesn't seem bright for any webmaster forum, publication, show, resource site, etc... that generated revenue from selling ads to other people in the industry.

yeah and it sounds like its the same blowhards that go to all of them over and over and over. I just don't see the point unless you looking for a paid vacation from your employer or an excuse to party.
