Alien has made GFY his home. He preaches there almost daily.

Alien is still around, after failing to take down AOL, he admited that his mom took large amounts of acid while pregnant with him. He still posts on GFY.

KidSlick - He recently sold AmateurMasters, and has moved on to a new project - not sure that it is. Maybe ranks.

Rick sold Amateur Masters? Didn't know that. I do know that Ranks came out prior to AM though.

So the Alien(something appended to name) over at GFY really is "Alien". I've wondered. He doesn't seem to be pushing his Flash design site in his sig, so I wasn't positive.

There's one famous celeb webmaster not mentioned yet. Let's see if anyone else mentions them first. It's late and I'm too tired to start a new pissing match at the moment. :)

I know Barry and Fred from the old Pornication crew were doing some hardcore spamming baout his time last year. Up till we kicked their ass out of the data center. ANother one I was getting ready to throw their shit in the street.

Interesting the word of mouth 'history' of how some of these things came to their current presentations.

I'd figure that for as many of these people that have left, there are more just hiding out, for various reasons. Still in business possibly, likely in some cases, but not out in public at all. And probably won't be again.

When I was stark raving newbie, all of em gave me quite a few leads...

Hell, when I started working at my present job (August 2000) One of the things I made sure of with my immediate boss was that he wasn't gonna be on my case for reading the news from allofem.... Told him, quite honestly, that I got most of my heads up on viruses etc from the site....

So, I could care less whether someone compares it something akin to a cassette tape, vinyl, 8 track, 45, or even a good old 78... If you got something that works well....... Keep It !!!

I have been thinking of going underground and putting my dogs as the public face of the company.

There are still many people making A LOT of $ who are VERY low profile. You may see them at small shows, or these days many do not even bother to attend due to the childish behavior that goes on.

I thought the definition of celebrity webmaster was someone everybody knew in the biz, but made no money...
