Yeah, I figured that would be the answer. I don't really have any lofty ambitions as to becoming a major player and all that jazz. I'll be happy when I just have a regular amount coming in extra to supplement what I get from my 9-5, and things are heading that way for me at the moment. I guess I would regard that as a success, having achieved something and all. But then I might start looking for my next challenge after that...

Back in 1997, your chances of being what nearly *anyone* would describe as a "success" were pretty good, if you learned, worked your ass off, and repeated that daily.

Today? If you learn, work your ass off, and repeat that daily, you will make yourself a supplemental income. How big a supplemental income depends on how well you learn and how hard you work.

My husband and I could live on what I make if we could get a cable connection bootlegged into a refrigerator box in an alley somewhere. That's hardly anyone's definition of "success."

However, as a "supplemental," it's cool. One sponsor check allowed me to send a more lavish box of birthday goodies to a friend. Another allowed me to go mildly nuts buying books and dvds for myself.

Coming in fresh this late in the online porn game requires you to do the "learn and work your ass off" thing better than the other newbies coming in. If you've got the idea in your head that porn is an easy job that will make you millions...bang your head against the wall untill *that* idea gets out.

The odds were pretty bad then.

How many people can you name that just ...dissappeared

Most who were around and did well are gone.

The ones that abjectly failed are gone.

A very few who make decent numbers are still here (most by the skin of there teeth.)


Then there are people who can make marginally more doing this than flipping burgers , they are still here.

I agree with the opening post, for the largest part.

Though I do think the defintion of earning a living is subjective. What I'm fine with might be considered dirt poor to someone else.

There are alot of factors that will determine the final outcome though. Someone who is persistent enough will fit in somewhere and make something. Ofcourse you guys are the experts so disregard this post.
