that is correct. offshore is good for banking issues, but as far as content goes, im pretty sure it is still where the owner resides. id rather deal with the IRS than the FBI any day:)

besides, not like theres a mass exodus to offshore hosting. it fits for some, not for others. plain and simple. i havent noticed:)

i seem to recall a mass panic about hosting in the netherlands a few years back. these things are cyclycle. if you dont wait for the dust to settle, bad decisions could be made. just ask all those that were paying 10K for a t-1 in amsterdam around y2k..

no slight on offshore hosts, but remember, just like anything else, it can be used as a marketing angle. fear has this way of working. the host that does right by you with good pipe, servers and good service, is the one you should staqy or go with. that will stand the test of time. just look at national net.

I second that, Trev. :okthumb:

I had a lengthy and quite informative ICQ chat with Technick about news programs. Now, I have my homepage set to a page that has news threads and I watch the morning local news and usually part of the "Today" show. It isn't like I'm avoiding the planet. Technick, however, watches BBC news and Canadian news, etc., and knew things about this little blue marble of which I had been sadly uninformed. I felt completely and totally dumb for a while. I knew the US news was "shite," but I hadn't fully realized what a large amount of "shite" it was.

Zippa is a great Hosting company, and top notch guys behind it.

Siliconcanal will not be taking any new adult customers at this time.

due to our success we are growing faster than is healthy, we have several new projects in the works and I need inabon to stop messing with the small margins and high maintenance that servers require. ( confusius say why make 50 cents and work all day, when you can make 5 dollar and work half day )

we of course will continue to service our exsisting customers, and we are still adding new mainstream clients on a daily basis.

but as of now, unless you want to sign a six month or one year contract we will not accept any new adult customers.

I think zippa is a great choice.

Noted :)

Technick is watching the outside looking in, so there's very little spin with the right news channels... unless we're all being duped :o

grimm...sort of an intellectual comment...I read your first post, thought to myself "cool" or a word like that...then was brought up short re: your comment about it not being spam. Spam? I thought. What spam?

There's an object lesson to be learned here. People need to learn how to write. Your post was very well written and therefore struck me as being "informative" rather than anything else.

(I have an idea, Red! :) )

I wish I had a count on the number of people who have been flamed just because of hyperbole and the caps lock. I may apply for a government grant to study this. :)

well thank you morgan for the compliments:) i try to make my point without being a schill, and since i own part of the company, i can attest to the virtue, or i would not put my name behind it. hosting is an odd game, and if people are misinformed, and dont know what they are getting into, then i want to educate them to the best of my abilities. if that doesnt work, i want to get them what they want, if still no success.. then so be it:)

Joe... thanks for the good words. we feel the same about you. there is a wisdom about not growing out of your shell at this point...sure there will be opportunity, but in the adult community, Silicon Canal has see boisterous growth in a short time. much good wishes to you.
