Ok so does getting an electric car really mean saving money?

Someone wrote:

Walking by an electric vehicle charging station today, I stopped and checked the price to charge.....
.32 cents a minute.
That is $19.20 an hour.
If it takes 8 hours for a full charge.
That is $153.60 for a full charge.... and most electric vehicles get about 350 miles on a charge...
That is $.44 a mile..

so I checked and here is a link to show these numbers aren't that far off - Effective April 1, 2022, the cost to charge at BC Hydro EV stations is:

12.07 cents per minute for 25 kW charging (+5% GST)
21.13 cents per minute for 50 kW charging (+5% GST)
27.17 cents per minute for 100 kW charging (+5% GST)

so add to that the value of the car and parts for servicing.. is it worth it?

Im not feeling the electric car.
Kinda like the solar panels for your house.
Batteries seem to be the stumbling block.

Batteries seem to be the stumbling block.

My home was designs and cables laid out for solar panels on the roof but I opted out thinking - there will be a day when these things get smaller and better.

Sure enough Tesla came out with their solar wall - can handle the whole house

But I know it will get even smaller. The only good thing now is that it does increase the value of the home due to the fact that it is prepared for it.
