Liberty Reserve, a major global online cash transfer business run out of Costa Rica, has been shut down and its executives arrested to face U.S. charges of laundering $6 billion.

bitcoins are history.....the "system" will never allow them to function. If you ever see a legitimate bank pitch an online currency...buy it. Until then, its as profitable as Las Vegas.
Hell, I could live to eat those words.....not

So it wasnt a paxum bank but it looks as if they had a security breech or bug which was giving up all that copious personal information they collect.

I dont know of anyone here that has an account with them.
Of course we called it long ago with that epassporte turd on this very forum.

Actually, I think Epassporte, Paxum, and all the others are great - provided you generally use them as transient money systems, and not holders. Don't leave cash in the system, use it up as fast as you can, putting it out and turning it into actually cash works well.

if and when paxum dies (they are very hard to deal with at times) they will almost certainly be replaced with another one. There is a need, a hole in the system I guess, that they fill.

You know they process for pirates. I ran into them when they were processing for a scumbag that was ripping out sites out of Amsterdam. I called this Iranian dude in Montreal and he told me to fuck off, he would process for anybody he felt like. A few guys lost their paypal accounts and Paxum got seriously fucked with Amex. Use them if you like, but......
