I don't think Adam cares what anyone thinks or what he comes across as. As Bob Dylan said, "When you ain't got nothin', you got nothin' to lose". However, buddy who ran off with the guidette has everything to lose. She sure as shit ain't no pretty woman and he sure as shit ain't no Richard Gere.
