Getting Listed in Search Engines

How long does it take a new site to get listed in the Search Engines? I know Google takes its time but is it faster with Bing and Yahoo etc? I only submitted a few days ago but I don't want to start my other projects until I know this one has a foothold.

The easiest way to get a site listed by Google is to link to it from another site that is already listed and gets indexed frequently.

This is where a paid ad on a highly ranked site can pay off for you. in porn sites with a PR4 rank are relatively rare most are 1 or 2

Wow...Google listed me after only a few days..I was thinking it would maybe be a few weeks LOL. Going to check the other SE's now and see if I've been lucky with them.

They are super quick in many cases. I've seen sites and/or new pages show up literally in minutes after submission.
