The economy must be kicking retailer's asses because What I spent on computers 5 years ago I'm spending 1/5 of today and more powerful.

Even the storage is cheaper.

Cameras, scanners, alll good. Really it all pays for itself in less than a week
but I can now equip myself with a total mobile office doing art and websites
and it all fits in a backpack with artpads etc.

How are things on the big server side of the shopping cart? I'm scared
to look. It might be too good to be true.

I need to get new computers soon. Need one for work and one for playing Everquest 2.

The laptop prices came down steeply and continue to drop. The desktops are so cheap it's less than a few month's cell phone payments. If you build your own, just as cheap.

They have big liquidation sales out here in California. So many people are leaving they have to sell their stuff. The average garage sale will net you awesome bargains but of course not always a wise choice.
