YNOT -- Last week it was reported that the Internext version of the Players Ball signed rap star Warren G, and the popular event would take place at the Rain nightclub at the Palms Hotel & Casino on January 10th. That's the same venue for Internext itself, but one day prior to the start of the expo. It now seems that the plan could change, however, as event promoter D-Money told YNOT.com that the Rain is making things difficult.

"The reason for the 10th was because Rain is used as the trade show floor the next day and would only be available for use on the 10th," said D-Money. "Normally that is the night for Internext's welcoming party. We also wanted to try to attract some of the AEE crowd since Rain is such a huge venue and more porn stars always makes the Players Ball more fun."

With plenty of industry professionals looking for something to do on the night between AVN's Adult Entertainment Expo (AEE) and the strictly business-to-business Internext Expo, the logic behind the date makes sense, but that doesn't mean the process has been smooth sailing for D-Money and his company D-Money Presents.

"Well, since we planned on having the Ball on the 10th, Rain hasn't been as nice to us as they have been in the past, so they wanted to charge us over $30k just to use their venue that night," D-Money told YNOT. "This is a deal breaker for the Players Ball. Lucky for us, we have many great Vegas contacts for more venue options. It's a good thing that we've always provided our venues with our 'player' crowd. This makes it easy for us to have backup plans."

Plams just wants more money because it's a well-known act.

Greed.

Here is my thoughts on that. Who is your audience? Personally, I have never heard of this "well know act". But that is just me. Previously events that I have attended were heavy metal shit.
Perhaps it might be prudent to think about intergenerational talent that appeals to most. Are they trying to attract people with money (what I would call "playas") or a buncha young traffic rats? Any thoughts?

Do you honestly think he paid anything to bring the Sapphire customers when he admits they will pay cabbies to drive clients there?
Why do you think you have to use their limos?

Yup, my point exactly. At the very least they should pay the cab. Duh.
Five years ago, this would not have been a problem nor would they have made such a lame post on gfy. Gotta love big time.

Same shit.

Different year.

Less money.

Not enough sponsor dollars to grab a venue, so give him credit for getting creative and not just cancelling. He brings the business to a strip joint. They happy to have the action in the economy. And I would speculate the money they save on spiffing the cabbies likely went toward D's entertainment.

But again I laugh that people think the real money holders in this business could give a rat's ass about ANY hip hop act. The bro's love it, the people who PAY the bro's likely cant identify any hip hop act unless they can read it in the performers 'fro.
