Craigslist Hooker Sweep Nets 28 Women

Sheriff: Site remains "one-stop shop for all your prostitution needs"

SEPTEMBER 15--Charging that Craigslist remains a "one-stop shop for all your prostitution needs," a Florida sheriff yesterday announced the arrest of 28 women who allegedly advertised sexual services on the popular online classifieds site. Dubbed "Operation Hot Date," the undercover police action also netted several pimps who worked with the alleged hookers, said Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd. The women, pictured in the mug shots on the following pages, offered a variety of sexual acts carrying prices between $125 and $800.

Two of the alleged hookers who arrived for appointments with undercover officers were pregnant, and a third arrived with fur-lined handcuffs. In announcing the sweep, Judd criticized Craigslist for "facilitating prostitution" and deriving proceeds from the illegal act, since the site charges for the placement of the adult ads. Judd added that he wanted to press charges against the web site, which has previously pledged to law enforcement agencies that it would crack down on ads promoting prostitution.

I guess if this sweep extends up the south then some of these people bragging about "killing it" in the mainstream will be in jail and it will no longer be "just a phase".

You would think that the police would have better things to spend money on then going after women making a few pussy bucks.

It figures that it's Polk county. That sheriff is on the news every week with some trailer trash meth, crack, pedofile, murder case that makes the six o'clock news. He gets more air time than the governor ... hmmmm ... maybe he's going to run for Charlies job :scratchin

The majority of CL ads were bogus, but there are several other similar sites out here that are serving the same purpose. Plus, wasn't CL supposed to close down that section over a month ago?

CL is a cesspool and deserves to be wiped out.

In that effort I have been working on http://www.webcamjunction.com/flaghag5000/flaghag5000.php

Works pretty good so far, been in beta for a while and it should be finished

IN TWO WEEKS

What's the purpose of that tool? To try and delete your competitors' CL ads?

Try it out. It's purpose will be self-evident.

I am not necessarily interested in messing around or deleting other people's CL posts if that is what that tool is supposed to do. That's why I was asking rather than trying it out blindly and double-checking the results. Seems like a tool that could certainly be abused. Not to mention that other people could be doing the same to your CL posts and then you have anarchy.

Well to tell the truth, it is a joke.

It goes through showing you the cl posts and showing them marked as gone.

Then when it gets to the end it goes to a page that thanks you for reporting (shows your ip) as a TOS violation..yadda yadda.

I built it to screw with some people that were looking for a flag bot to do exactly what you are describing but are not quite as sophisticated as the normal adult webmaster.

I would have hoped that by now I would not have a reputation as a person that would actually build someone a flag bot (well for cheap) or that would parade such a piece of software around.

But then again, I would have hoped that by now I would have a reputation ;p
