When your real good friends find out what you do or how you are involved in the business... what are some of the questions they ask you?

Is pretty interesting the misconceptions a lot of people have about this business. Just wondering if its confined to the South or does everyone else get the same types of reaction.

most of my friends work in adult and the few I have we dont talk about it. Also most work in internet marketing focused on adult they arent pornographers which is very different.

The subject just doesn't come up, or tends to be avoided. Some of the guys know, but the wives don't. They're cool about it, but not so sure the wives would be. They don't want to deal with the judgemental BS from their better-half any more than I do.

Mine are totally cool with it but my philosophy has always been I dont hide it, if they dont like it fuck em. I know it sounds a bit harsh but if I have no shame nobody can use shame against me, so I told family, friends... everyone

10+ years ago, there was a WOW factor involved in working in this business. These days, no one even seems to care. Just about everyone seems to know someone doing this now.

I don't directly discuss it with too many people, although a certain circle of friends know exactly what I do and they think it is pretty cool. Girls are always joking about the hidden cameras in the house, to which I reply "no need to hide them, now is there?".

Pretty much everyone I know - save one cousin's husband - knows. Most of the folks I know who aren't in the business think it's super-rad, mostly 'cos I get to travel and see things and they are tickled by conversations I end up having - how matter-of-factly I say things like "well, creampie tends to trend much more niche-oriented, whereas MILF and tranny are pretty consistantly top-sellers."

I basically just tell people I sell advertising on the net by brokering people a space on their website. I just rarely mention that's they are adult related.

I lost some friends when I first started over it when I hung with a much more conservative (snobby?) group of folks. I'm pretty open about what I do now when it comes to friends, family living 1,000s of miles away is another story, but at this point in my life I doubt I'd consider anyone a "real good friend" who I wasn't comfortable letting know about my work.

I'm a disciple of the Mike South philosophy.

"You're not doing that kiddie porn are you?"

"Can I get a password?"

"send me some of that shit"

I get that a lot still. Like they can't find it for free or something.

You know, I get that one from the Chinese food guy. Funny, he never offered me any free food though.

Hoo-ray!

My close friends don't really know, they simply figure I'm a photographer, and I build websites. But since I'm only a part-timer and I was known in an another industry prior to this, the issue never really comes up. I plan on telling my sister soon, as I'm getting ready to make out my will, I want to give her my passwords and account info, in the event....

Most of my friends and family know, everybody's pretty cool with it. I don't really talk about any of it with them though. Most of them kind of lose interest after learning it's a lot more technical than just boobies and ass. None of them are really open enthusiastic consumers of porn anyway, so I just kind of quietly do my thing and they don't really question.
