Binghttp://i.ixnp.com/images/v6.7/t.gif (http://www.bing.com/) is an excellent search engine. For one thing the surprising early reviews probably forced Yahoo’s hand as they entered into one of the dumber (http://www.techcrunch.com/2009/07/29/microsoft-yahoo-search-deal-the-official-press-release/) corporate transactions I’ve ever seen. So, kudos to Bing. Golf clap. Etc.

But one thing about Bing really stands out – it may be the best porn search engine ever created (see Badda-Bing Indeed (http://www.techcrunch.com/2009/06/01/badda-bing-indeed/comment-page-2/)). In private conversations Microsoft employees always said that the porn search feature was an unintended byproduct of good video search. But we always wondered if that was true.

Anyway, in May we noticed Bing ads on Google (http://www.techcrunch.com/2009/05/28/ads-for-new-microsoft-bing-search-engineon-google-search/), which seemed a little ironic to us given how seriously the two companies compete with each other.

But one thing we didn’t notice until now is that Bing is also advertising on Google for the queryhttp://i.ixnp.com/images/v6.7/t.gif (http://www.google.com/#hl=en&safe=off&q=pornography&aq=f&aqi=&oq=&fp=7cdddd15828a963b) “pornography.”

Which in our opinion removes all doubt about Bing’s intentions. There’s nothing wrong with being a good porn search engine, in our opinion. And why not go ahead and advertise it to the world.

If I were Bing, I'd advertise for just about any damn keyword and link to the SERP for those on Bing. Do this on just about any PPC network you can find. Hell, if TGPs can buy traffic to boost size, why can't a search engine? Besides, with a budget the size of Microsoft's, NOT buying traffic to boost Bing would be retarded.
