While in Georgia for the past nine months I figured that when I returned to the company that I work for there would most likely not be much for me to do so I worked out the details of starting up my own law practice.

Sure enough, my feelings were correct and we mutually concluded that it would be best if I went on my merry way.

So tomorrow I will begin my new adventure and go to my little law office and start shaking and baking on my own. Despite the uncertainty I feel liberated and full of energy.

I am starting on personal bankruptcies and already have potential clients calling and will start a chapter 13 next week for some cash strapped folks. Lots of tragic stories out there brought about unemployment, wage cuts, and poor decision making. I look forward to helping these folks restart their lives. I guess victims of the economy and irrational consumerism.

I will also continue my adult activities - heck I could even make a few blog posts and the boss won't get upset.

I've been self-employed for eleven years now. I still kick myself for not doing it sooner.

I have actually only had a couple of "jobs"...ever. I am blessed by being functionally unemployable. Its the only way to fly....

Good-luck... let me know if you're in LA and I perhaps we can cross refer .....

My firm is in Woodland Hills -- in the valley.

Thank you, I am in sunny Riverside - not too far southeast. Riverside County and San Bernardino are making the news with real estate foreclosures and high unemployment numbers.

Im in CA now its nice but so much more expensive than atl. Never mind dealing with mainstream media has been a nightmare. Best of luck to you, its sad but bankruptcies are the way to go right now. Its a good business decision.

Since 1983 for me.
Never really did put on the corporate yoke.
Read one too many success books, I guess.
