Isn't this just a standard WordPress installation with your own theme and a few of the various free plug-ins being used? Most of what you have on your page, I am already using.

I'm just curious if I'm missing something here. It does look good and would probably work well for someone who can't hack WordPress.

Sorry guys i forgot to select the thread subscription.

here some info:

Wordpress is a proven CMS - we modified it to make it work like an adult site and we added custom securtiy over it since we know that wordpress is prone to be hacked since it is open-source.

wordpress is a blog program - adultsitecms is a tour and member area cms system -

wordpress only works by controlling 1 folder where it is installed - adultsitecms generates content and updates to the tour and members area and each area design can be individually changed.

Wordpress does not allow FTP upload as ours does or automatically without adding plugins do flash video.

We have also added automatic detection of video types used commonly in the industry such as avi, ipod, etc.

We have also added more security to the admin as well.

AdultSiteCMS works with a simple htaccess method to protect the /members/ folder which works with almost any biller including netbilling/Epoch.CCBill/DHDmedia.

Plus we have discounts for Oprano's Users :)

Not poo-pooing your solution or product here. But I'm curious how you solve one big problem.

Ya see, I've already had a handful of past projects where I largely did the same thing. Take a good solid core like Wordpress, extend the hell out of it to make it into something that does much more.

But the problem is, the Wordpress core is out there and wide open for everyone. It is also widely used. SO, when there's an exploit, you best keep WP up to date because within a week every script kiddy in the world will be looking for sites who haven't updated so they can exploit it.

This can be an absolute bitch if you've customized the code. You can just lay in a update. Nuke and many other open source products have the same issue.

How are you getting around this?

I can't help but think "If it's based on Open Source software, there's someone out there who's already built a free Open Source version..."
