In every one of my "webmaster" accounts today:

- A clear copy of a recent bank statement or utility bill on which your name and adress are clearly visible

Completing all of checklist items will automatically restore your account access

Well, when you consider you only need a very, very few responses to make it worth while, it works. 99.999% of people ignore it, but that 0.001% that do respond are worth it, I guess.

The lottery scams apparently still work as well.

Yeah, I laugh everytime I hear about someone being taken by the lottery ones, because it's been covered so much in the news I can't believe everyone hasn't heard about them. I still get those occasionally too. :hmm:

Keep in mind that people are still sending money to Nigera every day.

The Paypal one is similar to the ones for all the banks. I see them and I know that someone is logging in on a fake bank website right there and then, and that their bank accounts will be cleaned out shortly.

I always get a laugh out of those phony bank e-mails - I have one checking account, and it's at a small local bank that does NOT have online access. So if Wells Fargo/Wachovia/Chase has "suspended" my online access, great! :D
