I was just surfing a few tgp's and got bounced around more times than a Steve Nash dribble. OK, I get then traffic trading deal, but I was never given an opportunity to whip out the old visa card and seal the deal. I gotta think this is soooooo wrong. Is this total stupidity or am I missing something? Toby?
I can only guess that you hit a network of TGP sites that are set up to mostly skim traffic to sell to brokers rather than sending mostly to affiliate galleries. It's the modern day equivalent of the old circle jerk network. A good tip off that you've hit such a site is the first thumb clicked will NOT take you to a gallery.
I avoid trading with TGP's that don't send at least the first click to a gallery and then at least 60% of subsequent clicks. My sites are set to send the first two clicks to galleries then 65% to 75% depending on the site. I adjust that percentage based on each sites traffic volume and productivity (avg number of clicks per visitor). The ultimate goal being to send as many clicks to galleries as possible and still maintain my trades, since the galleries are where I make my money.

The problem is so many guys forget how to back off and be a surfer themselves on their own sites.
You gotta get just a little high on your own supply. When you stop enjoying the material you're trying to sell you'll lose touch with the psychology needed to sell it effectively.
So many guys get so focused on the traffic that they forget how to sell.

If they even knew how to sell to begin with.

If they even knew how to sell to begin with.
that was my thought. The product is ultimately content, not traffic.
