We got about 8" of snow at my house in Athens and lost power for 30 hours.

Mine went out for about 10 minutes and I was putting shoes on to go to Home Depot for a generator.

I live on a small suburban island in Montreal and about 10 years ago it wouldn't take much more than a bit of high winds to knock out our power. Thankfully, they've improved things now and that doesn't happen anymore.
30 hours with no power would be hell though. Good to hear you're powered up again.
