SAN FRANCISCO — Video-on-demand network AEBN/NakedSword has merged with Raging Stallion Studios/Pistol Media to form one of the industry's largest gay adult entertainment companies.

The merger was announced this afternoon, and encompasses production and distribution, as well cross-platform online content and delivery systems that stretch across several countries and continents.
"Raging Stallion will continue to operate the same way it always has," said AEBN principal Scott Coffman. "It's a valuable and profitable production house. But we hope they can also advise us in both the gay and straight markets to help us help our valued partners increase their own production capabilities and expand their reach."
NakedSword president Tim Valenti said the current woeful economic climate made the merger a necessity.
"We hope that with our increased reach, our ability to assist in production and our expanded promotional opportunity will keep our partner studios prosperous while the economy rebounds."
Terms of the merger were not revealed at post time.
The freshly struck deal would appear to be the inevitable result of several years of mergers and acquisitions enacted by both companies.
The Charlotte, N.C.-based AEBN.net (http://www.aebn.net/) merged with San Francisco VOD network NakedSword.com (http://www.nakedsword.com/) in January 2007.
Last year, Raging Stallion (http://www.ragingstallion.com/) purchased Eastern European production label High Octane, and has partnered with Australian content provider Pistol Media since 2005 on a wide variety of niche sites including HairyBoyz.com, FistingCentral.com and SexGaymes.tv. Raging Stallion recently earned several XBIZ Awards, including GLBT Film of the Year for "To the Last Man 1-2," while AEBN earned a trophy for VOD Company of the Year.

We have a movie coming out next month from Raging Stallio for the VOD platforms.

To The Last Man

Its probably the most professionally shot adult movie Ive ever seen - bar none.

It will be the first Gay movie we run an exclusive movie promotion with as well. The promotional materials we have for this thing are increadible so the tools are going to be quite nice.

If youve ever thought about doing something with Gay traffic now is a good time. The saturation levels are much less, the content is becoming more and more profitable and the earnings have been really great.

Between the promotion the company did with Gay Movie Monster early on and a few years of working with Naked Sword I know its profitable.

And anyone that tells you that you have to be gay to be able to promote it is wrong. 2 fat white redneck boys I know of were able to get some great results.

I guess its because we looked at it as money as opposed to gay content.

The Raging Stallion programs are very solid. Those paysites have awesome promotional tools and Brian Randall understands the market better than anyone Ive met.

Expect big things from the merger. And if you are interested in learning more April King, Nina or Liz can point you in the right direction.

Somewhere along the line, the porn industry is going to have to break away from churning out shit as fast as it can and move back to the model of actually producing content that people in larger numbers are going to want. Straight porn has done it to some extent with the "pirates" movies, but for everyone of those movies, there 10025 shitty scenes filmed with some guy with a hand help minicam with shaky framing that they pass off either as "true amateur" or "gonzo reality porn".

Good luck to you folks in trying to put together and sell a quality product, I think it's a good move.

What?!

Are you nuts?

Are you actually suggesting someone try to produce a product that consumers actually want? Then advertise it as such, deliver exactly what was advertised for a fair price? That sounds like running your business like the surfers are actually customers? Shit, to do something like that you'd have to depend upon retention, how the hell would you ever get the bags of money to wash up on the shore?

You should be drummed out of the union for such a suggestion!
