The new administration that is......

I think that Obama will have so much on his plate and so much to do that our business will take a back seat to bread and butter issues. However, having known a lot of "activists", I think the extreme will be in greater danger than ever and will be the sacrificial lamb of porn.

I had today written off as a loss because of the election, but it turned out to be a pretty good earner. I hope this is a sign.

I think overall this biz has less to fear from an Obama administration. I'm not sure what the net result will be for the extreme.

Today has been good here as well, and the start of the month has been exceptional. Oct '08 was a 17% increase over Oct '07. The last three months have been the best three month total since I got back into the biz in 2003.

I could write a book on this one. Generally, I think it is good.

- much of the malaise of the economy is a lack of confidence by the consumer, and that lack of confidence is in no small way because of the absentee landlord in the whitehouse. So even though we are talking about a take over only in january, even the talking heads are admitting that Obama and crew will effectively take office tomorrow morning, mostly because Bush has already given up and gone into seclusion.

- Generally, a liberal society is more tolerant of porn, so money wasted under the current administration to stick christian values up everyone's ass will likely be spent to prop up equality measures instead. The current 2257 investigators could find themselves chasing hate crimes or thieving executives for the next 4 to 8 years.

- the conservative suckups just had their asses handed to them big time, with a massive rejection by younger voters of everything republican and conservative. Bush could have been the last hurrah for the bible thumping assholes that killed the US in the last 8 years.

- When the middle of the road moves to the left, it moves closer to porn.

I could go on and on. It's all good as far as I can see, the only potential bump in the road right now is if the outgoing administration decides to go on a massive witch hunt in the next 60 days and tries to take out the entire porn industry.

3 liberal Supreme Court justices to be replaced by 3 more liberal justices is without question good. If McCain had won, civil rights and liberties would have taken a tremendous hit on a Constitutional level. Hopefully a conservative justice will also retire in the next four years and we can have a shift of power on the US Supreme Court that could last a life time.

I also assume the appointment of a liberal AG, which should mean the end of 2257 inspections and obscenity prosecutions for at least the next 4 years.

As for Rob Black and Stag, not sure. I wonder if this means that their prosecutions will be dismissed. Probably not, but I certainly hope so.

In terms of prosecution it should be good for business.

First off, porn on the internet should be safe overall from a "bigger fish to fry" type perspective. I dont remember hearing it even mentioned in his "blue print".

We'll know more when we find out who his Attorney General is and get some inkling of the agenda there. My gut says they go after corporate corruption, wall street, banks, etc, all big scores that will play well with the masses and attack capitalists.

The long term legacy is with the Supreme Court. Expect him to appoint Justices as far to the left as he can possibly get approved. That's good for porn. However, the two oldest are Stevens and Ginsberg, both of which already typically vote liberal. Should one of the conservative Justices turn up ill and retire, then things get interesting as the balance tilts toward a more liberal court.

Possible downsides? I could see taxes on all internet transactions in our future, and that also gives the government lots of information about what we do and how much we do.

Similar thoughts on where the justice department should be directing its attention. Go after the real thieves in the implosion of the financial system...
