hi there!
big legal question for you...
i worked on a new cam site and never received my payment. After several e-mails I called the owner and he told me that he had a big bad lawyer and I had better stop trying to get paid. He also said "Little girl do you know who I am" and threatened to ruin me in the business. i haven't posted the website name or his name on any blogs. Still haven't been paid. I'm new to this and don't want my career to be over before it starts. What do I do? do i take him seriously and drop it and forget my pay or keep trying for it?
Thanks,
Natalie

Yer not gonna like it, but you likely won't get paid. Start working for reputable people.
Do a search amongst the boards for their name, and see what people have to say.
Take it with a grain of salt, of course. But if someone is dirty, (no pun intended,) you'll read about it.

His threats are hollow and just a bullying tactic. My advice is to post the name of this cam site to at least warn others from getting scammed.

I saw that you posted this on another forum, and that almost everyone said you should mention the company in order to get them to respond, either to you or publicly. You mentioned on the other forum, "They quit responding to my emails and deleted the threads on the site where the models talked about not getting paid.". Well, obviously they will not respond and won't be paying you.
You may as well mention who they are. In this Industry, a public outing is sometimes the only way you might get paid!

I have had the same problem..recently and it really does suck! I would post about the company and others will appreciate the heads up and might even give you some good names to go to from now on! Good luck, but I would not bite the bullet on that..work is not free nor should you have to beg for your money.

I would be careful about talking about this in public. You might open yourself up to liability. Scaring someone into paying you is not likely going to work. Contact me and let me know more of the facts and let's see what I can do.
If his "big bad lawyer" is in the industry I probably know him and we can work something out.
As for who he is ... I could careless. We actually like that attitude in our defendants.

I just think that it is wrong for them to take advantage of her and who is to say he ill not do it to others. I do not want that to happen to anyone else. If someone does not pay and then tries a scare tactic to keep her quiet he is shady and his name does not need to be kept quiet..I would like to know who is worthy and who is not.

I am not saying keep quiet about it, but depending on how she words her post it might be a problem. If she contacts me and I can resolve the issue, then it would perfectly acceptable to say "xxxxx and NaughtyNatalie resolved their differences...." You would now who it is and that there was a problem. Or if he doesnt resolve the issue then she can say "NaughtyNatalie has/is going to file a lawsuit against XXXXX for non payment..." again you get to know without disparaging anyone.
Going on a forum and saying "XXXX is a dirty rotten filthy liar and thief who doesnt pay his cam girls" resolves nothing and it would make anyone wary of doing business with someone that will air differences on a Forum.

I am not saying she should bash him..just make a public request for payment...but I get what you are saying it is best to send in the lawyer before it gets ugly.
