View Full Version : My How the Mighty Have Fallen...

'My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!'
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away."

This JMM thing has got me thinking that a lot of big noises, hot air bags, and deliverers of internet wisdom have crashed and burned or are in serious financial hardship due to their hubris. The days of Cristal and caviar and jumped up opportunists and quasi legal telephone redirects are over. Anyone who feels an inclination to add to the list, please do. This could be interesting. I will start....

Greg Lasrado......

That was during "Screw" days.
Now THAT was a wild place.

JoeE was great to party with though. He had a couple of girls up here in Montreal, so we used to see him quite often. His partner John used to also come up and hang out. Always memorable evenings!

Seth (and his F'n annoying sinus problem) can burn in hell. Now that guy owes me A LOT of money! He was the first guy to rip me off in 5 figures!

And let's not forget everyone's good friend Ron Levi.....

And let's not forget everyone's good friend Ron Levi.....

Well, while most people won't admit it, Ron still appears to have his hands up a couple of puppet's asses, making things go. The latest CE "free" site that could easily cross sale and back charge someone into a pile of charges has his signature all over it.

Yep, if it's sleezy and rips off the consumer, you can almost smell FM in there somewhere.

Seth bounced the first 2 sponsor checks I ever got back in 1996 and never, ever made good on them.

I still have IEG checks for $0.39, $041, and even my favourite one for $0.03 from way back then. The funny thing was, some people actually tried to cash them and ended up getting NSF fees on their accounts!

All together, Seth owed me just over $37K

Aw the good old days when 37K was not enough to worry about. 2000 charge owes me 28K. Whatcha gonna do?

PSW went down owing me right around $70K and on top of that, I also lost all the rebills that would have been worth over $300K. WTS lost their merchant account for credit card billing, and that cost me close to $30K not including lost rebills. Then IBill goes under owing me over $100K, again not including rebills.

My first merchant account was with a Costa Rican back, back in 1995, and they service charged me and fee'd me to death! Only got half my money from them. Then I start up with Deautche Bank in Germany, and after a year, they decide to stop doing On-Line Adult business. Lost money there too!

On top of all that, I've been screwed out of close to $300K by the various programs and "partners" out there!

And people wonder why I have so few friends in this industry! I quickly learned to be leery of everyone that does this, a long time ago....

Deutche Bank cost a lot of people a lot of money, including me. Not 300k, but enough to feel the pinch and forget about the c5 vette I wanted. So sad, too bad. Times have changed. Business ain't what it used to be, but it is more "normal". Like we all should have known it would be. We bleed and we prosper like Wal Mart. But there are a few Sharper Images out there and I don't feel like going down that road.
As for trust, this is business, to misquote Mr. Thompson, is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side.

Farrell is concentrating on re-releasing all the old original Homegrown titles on DVD and VOD. There are over 400 titles that haven't been seen in over 10 years, and some of that content is great.

Farrell and the guys at Homegrown are all great guys who I have never had a problem with. In fact, most of the best times I've had in this business has been with those guys. We've eaten together, drank together, and yes, even bled together! (The Gang Fight after a guy fired off his gun at my old studios was both insane and amazing)

Yep, Andy disappeared quite quickly back in 2001/2002. Haven't heard a word about him since.

Met him and Russ at IA2000 in Orlando in 1997, and they were like lost kids back then.Really didn't take him long to play games with everyone.
