Gonzo, I asked you to delete my account. But instead of delete me, you made your website hand me fake Server too busy messages instead. Whats up with that? Click this link for screenshots:http://www.livecamnetwork.com/bbs-pictures/oprano-fool.jpgWhen I access this website via a proxy server, everything loads. But when I access it from my own IP address, I am given a SERVER TOO BUSY error. Gonzo, What's up with that?I was unable to post this message from my own IP address too, so I had to use a proxy. But as soon as I logged in as myself, I suddenly got endless Database too busy error messages. What's up with that? And finally, As you know I have been trying to figure out if it is worth advertising on Forums such as Oprano. Why then does Pornafia, who advertised on Oprano for at least the 4 months, have only 1 new member in that entire time? (In Janurary, Pornafia had 39 members. Today (May 14th), Pornafia has 40 members). Gonzo, What's up with that? Whosever SmellsLikeBullshit was, he was right. This website and everything about is definately bullshit. I'm out.

Thanks Gonzo for all your help and support - FYI My little board "Pornafia" was started to brand the name for something I plan to do in the future (some things take time and planning combined with research and hard work) - which you can see the use for here:

I'm pretty sure the USPTO doesn't like the term "Internet porn."
Is that the best you could come up with?

What other kinds of articles are there?See items 2 through 12 below.

ar·ti·cle [ahr-ti-kuhl] noun, verb
–noun
1. a written composition in prose, usually nonfiction, on a specific topic, forming an independent part of a book or other publication, as a newspaper or magazine.
2. an individual object, member, or portion of a class; an item or particular: an article of food; articles of clothing.
3. something of indefinite character or description: What is that article?
4. an item for sale; commodity.
5. Grammar. any member of a small class of words, or, as in Swedish or Romanian, affixes, found in certain languages, as English, French, and Arabic, that are linked to nouns and that typically have a grammatical function identifying the noun as a noun rather than describing it. In English the definite article is the, the indefinite article is a or an, and their force is generally to impart specificity to the noun or to single out the referent from the class named by the noun.
6. a clause, item, point, or particular in a contract, treaty, or other formal agreement; a condition or stipulation in a contract or bargain: The lawyers disagreed on the article covering plagiarism suits.
7. a separate clause or provision of a statute.
8. Slang. a person.
9. Archaic. a subject or matter of interest, thought, business, etc.
10. Obsolete. a specific or critical point of time; juncture or moment: the article of death.
–verb (used with object)
11. to set forth in articles; charge or accuse specifically: They articled his alleged crimes.
12. to bind by articles of covenant or stipulation: to article an apprentice.

ummm... Toby I was referring to the sentence that obviously didn't need the word "written" to quality what kind of article it was. A series of books and articles would certainly be sufficient to make it clear she wasn't talking about an article of clothing.

Yes, I understood what you were referring to, and your example is very clear to you and I when used in the course of conversation. But... how many times have you seen lawsuits hinge on the interpretation of such terms in a document.

While "written article" may be superfluous for general use, I have no issue with it in the given context.

This reminds me of the time I was having some drinks at a party with Harpo Marx when he told me “Mae West has a gorgeous ass”

Wasn’t until years later that Groucho explained Harpo was making reference to the depth off her ass crack.

If he had said “gorge like ass”, I wouldn’t have spent all those years thinking Harpo was a “Big ass freak”. Course it turns out he was anyway heheheheh

I did not write that it is how they have the form for that category worded... So, your beef is really with USPTO.

The USPTO did not have any issue with the use of "interenet porn" as they approved the filing of the trademark.

I guess i could have gotten more creative but there was not need to.

Hmmm....well, I understand your comment. My concern would be more about if you ever had to deal with a challenge. But it's more likely you won't so it's a moot point.

Well, since it did not get mentioned (and I really thought it was obvious as all get out) there are video articles and audio articles.

LOL. What the hell is a video or audio article? The only definition of the type of article that applies is #1 and the operative word is "written". If you read an article while being video taped the product is not called an article.

A video article would be pretty much any video that expounds upon a subject. Right off the top of my head, a videotaped interview would qualify.

Video is not always scripted so video commentary is not always written.

Same with audio files.

Prior to the internet I would not have thought of video or audio as articles per se, but apparently others are thinking the same way I am:

Well, you got to roll with the flow you know.

What should we call a short video about an individual subject?

We can call them all vids I guess. But just like book could be composed of a series of articles, so could a video.

A book is composed of a series of chapters, not articles. Articles appear in newspapers and magazine, at least all of my life they have. But now some people want to expand the definition, but at my advanced age and considering I've always been a tough old dog to teach new tricks, I refuse to go with the flow.

Oh shit, I forgot I have you on ignore. ;)

Actually, you might consider a book like PJ O'Rourke's CEO of the Sofa, which is made up of nothing but articles printed in magazines. Does that make it less of a book?
