This sort of continues (and almost completes) a trend that has seen companies like Tower Records disappear, and the emergence of a combination of Itunes and Limewire.

People in the porn industry need to wake up. The more you allow your customers to learn that porn is free (piratebay or long run tube sites) or just a giveaway to an upsell (see dating sites) the less likely they are to value your product in the end. Adult bookstores and video stores are already becoming a quaint 70s holdover, how long before the online porn business (websites actually charging for porn) are faced with a similar fate?

Theres the flip side of this coin too.
Surfers have proven that they want to get what they pay for and I only see that gaining more popularity as times get tighter.

Look at the popularity of Pay Per View and Clips4sale.

It is porn's saving grace, we still have a product people are willing to pay for, especially if they can get exactly what they want. The music industry has found itself walking into a dead end street, where the only true money makers are existing acts, who can market online, downloads, etc, and make the real money performing concerts. The actual business of producing music has turned into a real dead business.

The music biz (musicians) will need to take notes from C4S producers, more product - released quicker - specialty - niche marketed. My 2 cents as a musician/label.
