If animal rights group PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) has beenhttp://pictures.reuters.com/doc/RTR/Media/TR6/S/O/X/W/RTR1U4BZ.jpg anything in its history, it is provocative. So the group’s latest bid to attract attention should come as no surprise. PETA has turned to porn.
PETA on Thursday said adult film star Jenna Jameson — author of “How to Make Love Like a Porn Star: A Cautionary Tale — will appear in a new advertising campaign dressed in a black wig and pleather (synthetic leather) bikini. The message of the campaign: “Pleather Yourself”
http://pictures.reuters.com/doc/RTR/Media/TR6/S/A/E/6/RTX4T86.jpgThe new ads will be unveiled on March 10, but PETA distributed a media advisory about the campaign on Thursday. In it, Jameson is quoted as saying “It is OK to be an animal in bed, but not at the expense of real animals…I suggest if people want to have a better time in the bedroom — then please explore the pleather side.”

Too bad pleather is hot, sticky, and makes you sweat like John Travolta in Kotter.

Bleh.

She could pleather herself by having a meal once in a while.

Didn't she leave porn? Can't we leave her too?

True, but you could actually swim in a pleather bikini without ruining it.

I wasn't aware she left porn, I do think she said she won't even spread her legs in front of the camera again though

Well... the bikini wouldn't be ruined, but I shudder to think what would happen to the girlie bits with the lack of air flow... *shudder*

I guess my other question is how do you tell the pleather from the rest of Jenna's skin?

That's the final straw, I have now lost any semblance of respect I may have had for Jenna. She is yet another celebrity idiot who fell for the shit PETA is doling out. The executive of PETA. especially Ingrid Newkirk, are the biggest bunch of hypocrites around. They truly follow the old adage of "Do as I say, not as I do".

I don't even have to quote sources as to the atrocities to both humans and animals that have been done in PETA's name, as they abound all over the place.

Sorry, PETA makes me very angry

I am all for animal rights and the mistreatment of the cute fuzzy animals..doesn't mean I don't eat meat. I just hate seeing pet owners abuse them! So PETA is okay in my book so far...:waving:

Since the vast majority of leather is a by product of the meat industry, it would seem to me that being anti-leather would almost have to go hand-in-hand with being vegetarian.

Do a little more research into what PETA is all about. How people treat their pets is pretty low on their list. ASPCA seems more in line with the sentiment you expressed above.

Keep in mind that PETA doesn't think we should have pets, and that we should release all animals so that they are free to do as they want in nature. That means no pet cats, no per dogs, no pets period!

PETA supports and funds the ALF which believes in killing people to protect animals.

PETA doesn't support animal research of any type, and believes humans should die before taking part in any cure or procedure that involved animal testing. But as it goes with "Do as I say, not as I do", The PETA VP, Mary Beth Sweetland, went through all sorts of procedures that are deemed unethical by PETA for her extreme diabetes. The justified it by saying that Sweetland's work justifies her need for the procedures. Even Ingrid Newkirk has had various IV's, which were first tested and perfected on animals.

There is just amazingly copious amounts of data showing the hypocrisy of PETA including the euthanizing of more animals that any shelter in North America.

Just do a search of "PETA Hypocrisy" to get an overview of what kind of people they truly are. At least Ingrid and the rest of the executives of PETA get to live in multi-million dollar homes and travel the world in class.
