Australia- [news.com.au]- FOR months, Rebecca Jane Clarke insisted she never knew her co-stars in a home-made pornographic movie were just 14 years old.

The expectant mother, of Goulburn in NSW, has always blamed her co-accused - Renee Jean Malyschko and Daniel Troy Osis - for the drunken exploitation of two teenage girls.

In Adelaide's District Court today, Clarke - who likened her victims' bodies to waif-like actors Calista Flockhart and the Olsen twins - panicked when she was told her "genuine belief" the girls were 17 would not spare her a jail term.

As she stared, wild-eyed, out from the dock, Judge Michael Boylan said he would instead suspend her 12-month sentence because her crimes were "isolated" and "out of character".

"Had you not been drinking, I have no doubt you would not have behaved in the manner you did," he said.

"I have no reason to believe you will offend in this way again, but your offending is serious.

"You must stay out of trouble, or you will go to jail."

Clarke, 23, was found guilty of producing child pornography and inciting a child to commit a sex act.

She features on a pornographic DVD, made in 2005, fondling one girl while saying "your breasts feel like a 10-year-old's" and "I feel like a child molester".

Malyschko, 24, and Osis, 26, pleaded guilty to offences including unlawful sexual intercourse.

They filmed their multiple sex acts with the girls after befriending them on the Hindley St club scene.

Malyschko showed no emotion, and Osis fought to control himself, as Judge Boylan said their crimes were the most serious.

"The girls should not have mixed with people of your age, but that's not to the point," he said.

"You fostered the relationship, encouraged them to come to your flat and to drink alcohol.

"As adults, you two had a responsibility to protect these girls from themselves - you failed to do so."

He jailed Osis for four years, with a 27-month non-parole period, and Malyschko for 3 1/2 years with a two-year non-parole period.

Not the sharpest knives in the drawer. The "I didn't know" defense just doesn't cut it, nor should it.
