Hello and thanks for letting me join your forum. I feel like I'm at one of those big national meetings where everyone gets a stick-on name tag.
Mine would read, Hello, my name is.........Newguy,..or Cherry or Greenass or
Dumbass etc, etc.
I have the most incredible person in my life and over the last few years she and I have had a blast in and around the 'industry'
I take photos and run the vidcam and she (aside from looking good) edits and posts.
We have no real method or system, I'm a pervert and she's a doll and thanks to offshore manufacturing we have a wealth of electronic wizardry at our disposal.
I'm here to try and learn from the wise:wnw:, I won't deny it, everyone wants more cash and I figure the combined knowledge of this group could probably turn PeeWee Herman into Hugh Hefner overnight.
I hope to get to know all of you over time and grow to become a good member who can offer help as well as ask for it.
Cheers

Welcome and I am only 6 months old - and a slow learner do to my being a creature of habit and old fashion. So I will refer to the elders to give you all the advice you need and chime in every once in awhile.

Welcome ... good place to be ... I've been making money in this for 10 years, but there is always something new to learn and this forum is my favorite. The core group of webmasters here are smart guys and will definately teach you "the business of porn". :okthumb:

Welcome to Oprano. You are certainly off on the right foot by having your own domain name. I would assume that you are owner, admin, and tech as well. That is very important if you are thinking of expanding outside of sc.

Hello and thanks for the warm welcome:okthumb:. Mandy also wants to thank you for the great welcome. She's going to join the site as well. In the meantime here are some photobucket pics as requested.
We cater to the smoking fetish, it wasn't carefully planned to be a niche, it just happened to be by own favorite and it has certainly been well accepted.
In the early days(4 years ago) it seemed that a personal page was required to go to market but we never really got to it.
So as a product of those loose ideas we do have a couple of domains and I'll make a good bet that we are under utilizing them.

So here's my first question:
smokingmandy. com is a domain name that is in fact a direct(permanent) link into SC.
How can we put the domain name to better use??????
Should we pay for hosting and fill it with banners to generate affiliate traffic and if so then who can we team up with at oprano?
Should we invest in turning it into a full solo site?
Remember that we can't use the content from SC per the SC agreement
Thanks in advance and any comments on the pics would be great.

Does Southern Charms have an affilaite program?

MadMonk

No, southern charms doesn't have an affiliate program. It's a big ship and I guess they feel they don't need it.
We are looking into expanding out from SC but without cutting off the mother ship.

I hear ya, have thought the same myself on more than a few occasssions, but SC just doesn't lend itself to the affiliate model.

1) By the time SC takes their cut, 50% I think but that may be wrong, there's not enough left to split with an affiliate.
2) They have no recurring memberships, unless that has changed recently. A revshare program without recurring is a pretty tough sell to affiliates.

Mandy is a beautiful lady, great legs, stockings, heels, boots, etc. My surfers would eat her up. As bluemoney noted above, she's one of those SC babes I'd love to be able to promote via an affiliate program.

Many of the "Charms" have web sites separate from SC that they run completely by themselves. You just have to be careful of violating the exclusivity agreement in regards to any photos used on your SC site.

If you decide to go that route, and are also planning on having an affiliate program, plan on building two tours. Tour 1 will be your regular tour for everyone that comes in via the front door (all your own generated traffic). Tour 2 will be for affiliate traffic. The two can be almost identical, except that all link exchanges, links to any video sales etc. will be on tour 1. Tour 2 will be "clean and leak free", without any external links to pages or sites the affiliate doesn't get paid for.

My personal opinion, others may disagree, but I'd go with CCBill as payment processor for such a site. For a 1 or 2 site independent affiliate program they're they are tough to beat.

There's a ton more info, but until you decide specifically what direction you're going to go those details can wait.

Hi & I'm Mandy! Thanks for all of the welcomes. SC doesn't allow affiliate programs AND also does not allow any of us to have affiliate links on our links pages.

But..the memberships are recurring (for 1 and 3 month) but not for 6 months.

I've been on the site a little over 2 years and have done very well - however they are VERY restrictive on content (what we can and can't do / show) which is fine as it is their site - but I'd like to go out on my own.

I have also set up several Clips4Sale studios, which also brings in some decent money, but again - it's a % split to the site.

Now here's a question for both of you....

Would there be any benefit to YOU as a TGP site owner to have galleries from a SC girl that would fit into your niche? I know it's all about making the $, but I've often wondered if a link exchange from a top model at SC would be worth it for a TGP site owner (with the huge amount of traffic we get). Just to have more content for the TGP?

Just curious, as I am not that experienced in that area...

My suggestion is to make a website with members area for each C4S clipstore you have. Use the Websites as an upsell from the stores to get a "bulk discount" on your clips. :okthumb:

I'd love list your TGP galleries if you were to submit them to my TGPs. About half of the galleries I list with each update are submitted by others, the rest are sponsor hosted galleries and galleries I've built promoting various sponsors. Several of my regular submitters are independent amateurs, like yourself.

I do have a few link trades with some SC sites. To be honest the amount of traffic I receive from their banner farm link pages is minimal.

My advice to you would be to break off a seperate site and befriend a couple of guys like Toby and Blue Money to start promoting your program. These guys understand your surfer and appreciate your content.

I don't know the Blue money guy, But I can vouch for Toby. And if Gonzo says Blue money is Ok, you can take that to the bank.

MadMonk and Mandy - I would make http://smokingmandy.com/ it's own pay site and nix SC.

I think your content is good enough to stand on it's own especially if you can do live cam shows with smoking. I get a TON of requests for that, but am unable to fulfill them right now.

I could do some very good promotion for you, especially when you get an affiliate program.

I rank #1 in Google for the terms 'cigar fetish' and 'cigar smoking fetish' with my pay site, http://www.cigarglamour.com/

I am #5 for 'smoking glamour gallery', #11 for 'smoking fetish stories', and a crappy #24 for 'cigar smoking women' on Google.

#3 for 'cigar smoking women' on Yahoo, #6 for 'sexy smoking' and #7 for 'women smoking cigars'.

I am #1 for 'cigar babe' and 'cigar babes' in Google with my other site, http://www.cigar-review.com/

I can help you get your pay site started and offer services for design, development, traffic, SEO, and general consulting if needed ... and if not, I will still promote your site when you have your own.

Nice photos arent they?

I keep forgetting that you do all that smoking stuff. That niche has never been too crowded. I only recall a handful of guys ever working it aggresivly.
