View Full Version : Has anyone upgraded to WP 2.3?
If so, any issues with specific plugins? My biggest concern in FeedWordPress.
OK, why can't I edit a post I just made? :(

Looks like moving stuff around messed up some of the access masks

Version 0.99 (9/24/2007) of FeedWordPress is compatible with WordPress version 2.3

I upgraded a couple and then stopped. It messed up a few plugins I had to go find upgrades for, and the new tagging thing is just weird.
Wait for 2.3.1, it should be out around the 23rd or so, my guess.

It looks like someone is trying very hard to get banned.

The pointless bullshit posts just to increase post count can get you banned. But you've already achieved sigwhore status, so posting links and adding a sig isn't going work even after you increase your post count.

Hey! Anyone upgrade to WP 2.8 yet?? After the horror stories I've been seeing, I'm afraid too!
Just thought I would add something positive to all this...

I've update both of my blogs to WP 2.8 and have not had any issues.

I'll probably get to it later this week, of course, backing up everything first!
Toby, did you do the Automatic Upgrade or do it manually?
I used the automatic update for both. Besides first doing a database backup I also made sure I had the latest version of all of my plugins installed.

I back everything up including the database and do it manually.
It broke a few plug ins I use, some of which are no longer supported, so i ended up doing a little code to get 'em going til I can find replacements. And granted, most of my implementations are somewhat custom and I often use WP as a CMS instead of a blog. So your mileage may vary.
My main gripe is they keep changing the damned UI for the admin panels. The latest one will really bring an ancient PC to it's knees if you have a lot of categories or anything else that loads up the pages heavy during new post entry.
I'll be curious to see how it does with a netbook, haven't tried that yet.
