Show Dates Announced
for Internext Las Vegas 2008

CHATSWORTH, California – Internext Las Vegas 2008 will be held January 13 -15, Sunday through Tuesday, at the hip and luxurious Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada, AVN Media Network announced.

The premier business-to-business networking event for adult entertainment professionals working in the digital media marketplace will no longer include a traditional exhibit floor. Instead, Internext will utilize the 25,000 square foot Rain nightclub at the Palms as a special event venue. It will offer an array of VIP rooms, private sky boxes, indoor cabanas, fully stocked bars, and a stage with ongoing entertainment.

Internext has also reserved all fantasy-themed suites on the 25th and 26th floors for an incredible block party. These two private floors include some of the most decadent suites on the strip, complete with peek-a-boo showers, dancer poles, full bars and even a bowling alley. Attendees are bound to mix business with pleasure in this ultimate adult playground.

“We’re ecstatic to announce the move to the Palms” commented Renee Johnson, Senior Show Manager “This hotel is a great fit for the Internext program. We wanted to make a radical change – and this venue enabled us to do just that. From the one-of-a-kind fantasy suites to the exciting floor activities taking place in Rain, this venue has it all.”

Internext Las Vegas will also feature a fundamental education program, including an opening keynote address. The single-track program will focus on the evolving needs of the adult industry.

The Live Adult Domain Auction (a staple at the last two shows) will return as well to offer attendees the chance to bid on high profile industry domains. Past auctions have featured such premier adult and mainstream domains as Bisexual.com, Dirty.com, Pimps.com, Taboo.com and hundreds more.

** No one under 21 will be allowed into RAIN as it is a nightclub venue. Please plan accordingly. Anyone with special needs should contact me directly.

How difficult is it?

We do CES, maybe overlap one day with Internext, then go AVNExpo.
Now that would be nice, and cost effective for po' media moguls like me.
One of these years they will get it right.

But at least it's not as bad, as on the exact same days, as it was in the past.

I actually like the attempt to change the format. The show floor concept just has NOT been working.

The big question is are they gonna try to lock down the hotel like they do in Florida where if you're not staying there and part of the show you're not in?

I cant see that happening, Palms is too big and would be giving up a ton of gambling dollars.

Moving it off strip, MIGHT help keep people in one place and easy to find, which is always a big complaint in vegas. But I doubt it, still a lot of temptation to head out to the clubs and your favorite restaurants on the strip. I'm guessing a lot of people probably try to save a buck by staying at the Rio. That's in walking distance and likely yields a larger room for half the price.

Palms is VERY nice, but you're paying a premium to stay someplace very trendy.

Oh, I dunno-

The old fashioned floor concept might not be best.
But I don't think that's the drawback. I think the major problem is the insanity in pricing for a booth.

It's great for IBM, but not a website guy trying to market his starlet.
You wanna fill the show floor?
Make the booth rate reasonable, or make smaller booths, or something along those lines.

Problem in this business, is, it's not run as a business. It's a dick slapping contest. (No pun intended)
They come in, blow their wad to have a big flashy stand, splash some cash around trying to look successful, and 6 months later? No one has heard from them.

Doesn't matter if you're selling chips, or tits, business is business. One's just better to look at.
(The tits, that is....)

The key to a successful show is to get everyone in the same place so they can easily find and interact with one another.

If they all go in 20 different directions because the hotel bar sucks, food sucks, things close early or there's simply better distractions nearby, then people tend to tag up with the same people they see at every show and no new business gets done. That's not always a bad thing, but it's typically not remembered as a great show.

This is one of the things that makes Phoenix so successful. Everyone is captive in one place, there's not a lot of reason to separate from the herd because the best entertainment, etc, is usually at the show itself. Miami gets good marks for the same reason.

Now the real trick is figuring out how to provide that AND make it profitable for the show organizer.

I think brad put it best

No more show floor? So it is basically a big party with freeloaders looking for free booze?

isn't that where it all has been heading anyway?

regardless, I will be at Costa Rica Bash, finally getting out again, and figure a nice vacation/business mix will be the best thing
