Just rec'd an email from AM:

AmateurMasters.com is now 100% owned by Brett LaMar Owner of SammySmack.com, Sammy4u.com and Co-Owner of Rude.com

After months of negotiations with Dan Hogue of Camz.com, Hogue has released his shares to LaMar who prior to this was co-owner.

LaMar is formally notifying all the members of AmateurMasters.com that he plans to redirect the domain over to his new co-venture Rude.com in the next 12 hours...

The site has been dying for a long time, but it's now officially dead.

The price was too high for the traffic it was getting. Years ago it was awesome ...

Dan Hogue killed it. Shame because it was the best I have ever seen.

They were unreasonable about what they wanted I suppose.

I made an offer about a year ago. Said they wanted to get out of it what they put into it.

Shame redirecting traffic ...

I went to grab something I had posted a long, long time ago and it was already redirected.

The site I went to had waaaaaaaay too many ads in my face for me to consider spending time there.

It was probably because you announced you were quitting.....

Now I can make my "home" Oprano without feeling any guilt......

Of course, I did lose all those valuable posting points.
Shouldn't they be like frequent flyer miles?
You know, you think you have something there, and they change the program, or get bought out, and you got shit?

Hopefully some of those people will visit here as there were many whose posts I really enjoyed.

As long as the "I need a nose and boob job" chick stays away

SHes made GFY her hunting ground now trolling for sugar daddies to feed her ego.

I was just telling Graham I wished Trixie would come visit. Smart lady as were several of them.

Maybe they will find their way. They are most certainly welcome.

At one time I thought Am Masters was a good site, but I left that just before all the bullshit started and actually my business took off very well and didn't need to read crap and arguing. I didn't even notice it was gone really until just now and seen its re-directed to Rude.com. I like rude site but not for webmaster postings, too many ads for webmasters. I like this site for the forum stuff because I can find more informative information here without all the bullshit.

Glad you found your way here. Welcome to Oprano.

I just got pretty paralytic in Bangkok with Robb from Rude. They have a lot of good stuff in the works. Kind of opened my eyes to a few things. Or was it the elephant that walked into the bar? Hmmmmm

I wonder how much "they got out of it" by redirecting it. (Mind you, I like Sammy and Brett, and happily do business with them.)

But I gotta wonder, any offer over $500 has gotta be better than the limited re-direct profits you would get???
No?

I offered more. They said they had better offers. I suppose that fell thru.

I'm sure the redirect was to get amateurs/webmasters to load their content for sale on Rude rather than sell them something ... how do you measure that value?

At this point, Rude offers way to much free content, the videos are way too long, and in my mind it would appear to be detrimental to the adult business as a whole.

hxxp://www.rude.com/main/videos/top_rated/

(disable for everyone's pleasure) Some of the videos on the top rated page are in the 8 minute range, some of them in the 5 minute range, only a couple are under 2 minutes. The sad reality is that most people can get themselves off in under 10 minutes, given the right material, and they might just have to view one clip followed by another to get the job done.

Rule #1 of porn: If the surfer has used his kleenex up, he isn't using his credit card.

As much as I like Brett and Sammy as people, I won't promote any of their stuff because I don't think they are doing things that are a benefit to any of our bottom lines.

I kind of thought that....

And here's the thing......I understand the whole re-direct thing has value since I have over 150 domain names, and essentially only a single "product line." (Partly because I spend too damn much time here......)

Anyhow, how difficult would it have been to say "Ok Gonzo, we'll sell it to you, but we need a prominent ad space on that for XX months for Rude.com as part of the deal?"

Maybe I'm wrong.....but it seems to be a valuable asset wasted. But, it's not my asset, and I don't known the details, so I'll just have to assume they did what was best for them. But speaking solely as a frequent user, I would have been tickled pink to have Gonzo take over the board, and offer a hands on, sensible approach, to management and involvement of the board.

If I was trying to reach the webmaster market in a big way (with a few notable exceptions) I know where I would place my advertising dollars.

Well, EJ, you don't want to go making SENSE, now do you? :P
