Im hearing rumors that Pure Vanilla lost their merchant account?

Only thing Ive seen is a cryptic merchant email from last Friday and KB referring everyone back to the email.

Whats the real story?

This is the email

Dear Pure Vanilla Merchant:

It has recently come to our attention that certain Merchants have attempted to use their Pure Vanilla account(s), in conjunction with credit cards, in a manner prohibited under the Pure Vanilla Merchant Agreement and posted Pure Vanilla Operating Procedures.

This has prompted Pure Vanilla to conduct an investigation of these violations, as the practices of these Merchants are considered a risk to Pure Vanilla and our Members. Pure Vanilla takes the welfare of its Merchants and Members in high regard, and any subversive activities to undermine this is a matter of serious concern.

All new Pure Vanilla accounts will be ACH funded and recurring billings only authorized through verified consumer checking accounts.

We appreciate your patience and support during this time and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. It is an unfortunate situation that causes for quick and effective handling, which we know you would understand.

IMPORTANT: All Pure Vanilla account holders (Members) are still able to redeem their cards at your Merchant site – do not inactivate Pure Vanilla in any way. We continue to process payments made by Pure Vanilla account holders to our merchants. This matter only affects the opening and loading of Member accounts, not the redemption or use of Pure Vanilla accounts.

Please contact us directly with any questions.

Thank you

All that hype and advertising down the drain.
Until they I could go buy one up the street I wasnt very convinced it would work out. So Netcash will be the next to fall.

OH COME ON now bro! No one was clairvoyant with iBill man, they were a very respected 3rd party biller. I processed hundreds of thousands of dollars with them back in '98 '99 time period. I dropped them when the Visa fee came out and they wanted to charge me it for the 900# processing and I cried BS on that one... then is when I felt they were going to circle the drain and even so it took a year or more for them to be obviously bad. During that time new paysites were STILL signing up to have them provide billing.... I am sure you never saw that shit coming until the Visa Fee went into effect like everyone else.

of course I could be wrong but c'mon now

You are kinda wrong. I never thought they would tank so badly, but every IBill guy that tried to pitch us was young and dumb. There was no way I was going to let those clowns near my money. I did however, use 2000 charge as a secondary and they tanked. So I am not prescient by any stretch, but IBill gave me the creeps. I am very happy with netbilling who I have been with since they started. Good, honest folks who run a tight ship. We all had start up issues back then in the stone age, but only the strong survive and Darwin kicked in.

I hear that... I have to say out of all the billing processors I have come into contact with the best one by far has had to have been Epoch/Paycom... Others results may vary but in my experience they have been the most helpful to Royal Cash & myself

I am using ccbill as my secondary and affiliate processor. They seem functional and pay us and our affiliates on time. No real complaints and affiliates trust them, but I would not want to necessarily rely on them as a primary. I think they scrub too hard.

Yeah that CCBill scrub is legendary. I had them as my primary with Apollos Temple but I kept seeing a decline in sign ups from the same traffic. It got to 25% and I said to hell with it. And I have a great relationship with Epoch and enough secondary processors to give potential customers loads of choices.

any opinions on Verotel? I use them as primary on 5 sites, no complaints from me, but I really only used them to avoid the VISA charges. I use their affiliate program for 1 site... "just to test it" .... which is my mantra for all things new to me. I just set up with PV recently..."just to test it"...and I see where that is going...I did use CCBill back in '99, but have not tried the others you guys are talking about.

I switched from CCBill to Verotel several years ago for about a week and then switched back... i had a 70% drop in sales during that week, switched back to CCBill and they went right back up. I have no idea what was wrong but I haven't touched them since nor have I recommended them to anyone else

Update... Pure Vanilla now has no KB.

According to his post he resigned yesterday and went backstage to party with Velvet Revolver.

My guess is if you got stiffed on your last months revenue you will see it right after Ibill pays you out!

How long did they last?

My usual criteria is a year, but we've had a couple recently circle the bowl a few extra times before going down. I might have to extend my time line.
