I realize that Oprano doesn't have a ton of newbies posting looking for advice, currently, but I'd like that to change. If you're a newbie and want advice or critiques on your sites, blogs, TGP galleries, etc., I wanted to make sure you noticed that Oprano now has a "Newbie" forum, which I'm moderating.
I'm going to ask all of you Opranauts to respect the fact that the Newbie forum is for newbies to ask questions and keep the fun and games on the main forum. We want newbies to feel comfortable and unafraid to ask for advice and not feel embarrassed to do so.
I will actively participate and moderate that forum and hope those of you with knowledge to share will participate actively as well. Spam will be dealt with swiftly as will flaming or any other less than mature activity.

Are HoDads allowed to ask for help too? Or is that a different forum?
has Oprano ever been known as being "newbie friendly"?

define newbie please?
if someone tries to tell me what it is like to run a paysite I would chortle at them....if they tried to tell me what its like to manage just about every aspect of a multi-site affiliate program I would chuckle and if they tried to teach me how to edit a video or cut a trailer I would flat out laugh in their face.
but I am a complete newbie at blogs, feeds, traffic generation, SEO's and not drooling all over the female posters on Oprano LOL
so i guess that makes me what? an old schewbie?:yowsa:

Newbies, hodads and pros are all welcome to participate, whether it's asking questions about something they don't currently know, or offering advice to others. Although I seriously doubt that the main board will ever be considered newbie friendly, the Newbie forum will be, and that's the whole point of having a separate forum. If you look at GFY, their newbie forum does quite well and is nothing like the main forum and it doesn't seem like newbies are afraid to post there.
The choice is to keep Oprano small and cliquish or help Jim (Gonzo) make it bigger and better. Running newbies off to other boards seems counter productive in that effort, especially considering that most of the potential advertisers like newbies.

I promise to be good when I'm downstairs
Besides hammer is right. Mostly all newcomers are told & givin' links to a totally different forum, when they should be kept here.
