I hate to say it, but I am going to have to start blocking ads around here, not because I don't wanna support gonzo or anything, but this computer hang shit has gotten to be too much....I had like 15 tabs open and it hung and locked up firefox, so that was the last straw

does the firefox adblock plugin work for specific ads? i would love to block adbrite over every site

Yes, the adblock function will block ads from the specified domain across all sites. Some ad companies serve ads from multiple subdomains, so multiple blocks may be required to block them all.

Another way to do so, would be to add the desired ad domains to your hosts file. http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm

wait, did gonzo remove it? I don't see the adbrite up there anymore

regardless I am still going to throw that into my hosts file, nice advice :)

I've blocked ads on one mainstream board (it's a martial arts board) because they had so many ads that I couldn't fucking post.

Love the "right click --> block ads" in firefox. :)
