A few went for what I considered to be crazy amounts at the Moniker auction at the show, that's for sure. Based on the ones in this list, I'm gonna be rich when I start selling some of mine. I'm also going to run out and start registering all of those hyphenated domains I've always told people to avoid if they don't have the non-hyphenated version too.

Can you imagine how much traffic the-flower-shop.com will send to theflowershop.com once they start advertising. How many times do you think someone will tell a friend, "Hey, they have great prices and I order all my flower online at the dash flower dash shop dot com?

The time is right to sell....

You can see that by the number of high profile properties that are moving after all these years. They're bringing all time highs as there is money out there willing to grab them.

Who's right?

Who's wrong?

Only time will tell, but I would say this, if someone is willing to give you over 10 times annual revenue for anything, you should probably sell it and RUN to the bank.

in all honesty, if someone gave me double the annual income for anything I have right now I would take it....most of my shit is pretty disposable and I have built it up so that I can do the same thing again over and over if need be

If even any of these prices are "gettable," I'm fat bald little leprechaun sitting on a pot of gold with the stable of names I own.

And if you're talking adult business for anything other than domains, 2 years revenue is a real premium. Most serious offers for anything adult are quoting 3-6 months revenue.

The reason likely being that there's no security. What works and is profitable today wont necessarily be viable in 6 months.

Oh, I dunno about that........

Dunno about what? The risk? The perception is real. That said, the sky has been falling now for over 10 years. Though the industry continues to strip mine.

Or the money being quoted? There are certainly lots of exceptions....what did porn.com draw? 12X annual revenu

"Dunno" about the you saying the same thing doesn't work for more than 6 months.

Well, that's part of my point. Everyone takes every penny they can get today even if it's at the expense of money tomorrow. I think there's this underlying feeling that the industry could suddenly be turned upside down at any time by either government or visa regulation.

There's some truth to that. If Visa passes a regulation right now that says you can no longer automatically rebill, or even if you must email the user before each rebill and offer them a cancel link, what does that do to our business models?

Now in reality is that chicken little? I do have been pulling checks out of this industry for over 10 years now.
