and gonzo, I hate to think that a convention is what is needed to make deals these days....hell, is that IS the case, with all the new deals I have done without conventions in the past 2 months, I will be a millionaire after internext florida

It is common knowledge that the different trade shows are not necessary to do the deals. That can be done online or on ICQ or over the phone.

But, it is my experience that the shows give you the opportunity to meet the folks you are talking to and reading about on the boards. I will come closer to doing a large deal with someone I have met and spent time getting to know than those I just know online. By seeing them eye to eye and how they conduct themselves in a business setting I know how they will handle MY money. And for those who have never attended a real show... there is business done there, the rest is just entertainment for the ones that have no business to do or they are looking for a vacation.

So, would we all go out of business if there was never another show again forever...? Probably not. But, we'd hold our money tighter and come closer to doing business with the people we know personally.

I had a great time honestly. I am taking a iking to the smaller shows much more than the larger ones. You won't see me at Internext in Vegas anytime soon.
kathi - You are absolutely correc. Do I want to do business with those who are slobbering drunk and talking trash about everyone No. That's why I have a prob with the Vegas.
