How many of you have gotten an email like this before from a program?

Do you feel guilty and beg them to keep your account open?

Program owners can you tell me the wisdom in this?
You spend all of this money to acquire a webmaster and you want to do database administration periodically?

Honestly I think youd do better with a email saying that you see here is a problem promoting the program and asking what you can do to get the webmaster to send some traffic.

Special promo material?
Different banner sizes?

I think many have lost sight of what we are doing and all caught up in Free Hosted Galleries and worthless RSS feeds.

Anybody else got a comment?

For me no wisdom in this. I agree, the program owners should interact with affiliate webmasters and learn the needs and shouldn't delete some because they sends no traffic. In frauds it's a must though :)

Do owners make webmasters lazy offering them FHGs, FHSs, RSS feeds and such easy material so traffic can be generated without a hassle in minutes. Nowadays webmasters are less interested in free content or banners in my opinion.

I agree with everything you said including less interested in doing any work.

However if you have someone promoting you that asks for something specific chances are its worth the time to give them an odd sized banner.

I'd keep em in the databse and find a way to get them to send traffic again myself....

Once. I spent about a grand building sites around this sponsor and having programming done and sales were just so-so.

They emailed to tell me my sales weren't up to snuff and asked how I promoted them. I sent them links and they never did get back to me with suggestions, just a "you've been terminated".

I told them I would talk to my attorney since by cutting me off, they were stealing the $100 a week I was making in webmaster referrals. They ignored me, so all the documentation is in the hands of my attorney.

Programs stealing content.
Programs stealing traffic.
Programs stealing.

And then on the other hand I know of several programs looking for a quick sale over the past several months.

I guess screwing the webmaster and the surfer doesnt pay off as well as it used to.

This sounds like a good story, how long ago was this "once"? Cuz it doesn't sound that old since documentation is still active.
and I"ll just take a wild guess, and say you will not offer the sponsor? :whistling

I promote 100's of RSS adult feeds from sponsors and I don't have any of these problems your referring to, "..don't work" A list from AEBN to OCcash and a shitload in between. :scratchin

I was simply being curious why you state RSS feeds being garbage in comparesion to my feeds that don't seem to have any issues.

sorry man, I actually agree with Gonzo on this one

90% of the rss feeds are shit...they may look good, but they don't sell, which is the ultimate goal

in fact the only ones that ARE selling for me, are occash and fantasygirlrevenue, the rest are just blog fillers

the problem here is that no program owners are willing to do the real work and run blogs themselves, and think an image and a few lines of text will sell their site....rss feeds should be run by real bloggers that know how and what sells, not program owners wanting to jump on the next trend train

I had this discussion a couple weeks ago with someone. Most of the feeds I see are very lame and in my opinion geared towards the sponsor themselves rather than the webmaster. Your stats below make me think that even more.

I understood this as a tech RSS script problem and not a financial complaint.

wasn't the linklist and the thumbGalleries pages with trade scripts looked at the same way a long time ago?
This now this is how I believe autoblog's will evolve into

So how much do you guys actually believe a "fully automated RSS Porn Blog" will produce per year?
on average chating with other Wmasters they say produce about only a few hundred bucks a year. and what happen to "Quantity not Quality"???
I mean when u start pumping these things out in the thousands. All they become are free porn surfers picture link galleries, just like yesterdays thumb nail galleries. am I incorrect here?

as a representative of a program I would like to address the original topic of this thread.
Deleting affiliate accounts.
I have deleted affiliate accounts at two different programs and there really is only one truly legitimate reason for taking this action in my humble opinion;

Violations of the TOS, and to delete with extreme prejudice if it puts our company at risk with any of our third party billers.

I will and have been known to send a 24 hour noticed to an affiliate to change whatever violation is present on their pages (for instance using words that we have deemed inappropriate on a link to our sites) and if it isn't changed the account is gone. Spammers.... immediate termination. An e mail to a bulk e mailer has no more impact then a gonzo fart in a hurricane.

I could see a program choosing to terminate the account of someone who wasn't sending many hits or any sales, but it is contrary to my personal philosophy about affiliates. i will take someone with a trickle of hits and one sale a month.... better yet, I'll gladly take a thousand of them and give them just as much attention and respect as a big time TGP or Link Lister.

I did it at SexyCityCash and I continue to do it at Royal Cash.

My "free" sales didn't convert. It's not MY fault they can't convert the user from a free signup to a paid signup and get them to spend $3 a minute on live chat. I did my part by getting them to the site, honestly, with no bullshit.

I don't like programs that drop you if you don't send a lot of traffic or sales. Sometimes I signup for a program and don't send traffic for 6 months. It depends on what my future plans are ....

Usually I get email from the manager asking why I send no traffic, and I explain I'd like to review their sites and I'll send traffic that way, and rarely is there a problem.

I've heard a few Wmasters comment of your specific sponsor closing accounts with really stupid excuses like not maintaining specific sales percentage, and other lame reasons. I don't make to many sales to them from webmaster promotion side, but I know I make them pretty pennies from the camming side, maybe thats why they don't tell me they're closing my webmaster account.

I myself have never had any adult sponsor close my account, only a mainstream sponsor emailed me once to say they where closing my account, but that got resolved.

see, it isn't even that really...I can even make a single line of text and a thumb work better than I can make these 2 paragraph long rambling blog posts from a non-blog writer

here is a hint for sponsors...when you have someone writing your blog posts, make sure it is someone that personally runs blog and knows how to write for a blog.....

Correct-amundo!
from our TOS/FAQ

Are there any methods I can`t use to promote the sites?

Yes, there are. For obvious reasons our affiliates are restricted from using any of the following methods to send traffic to our sites; *Unsolicated Bulk E mails (not opt-in lists) *Links that indicate the pressence of underage models using words like `lolita`, `pre-teen` or `XX girls` where XX is an age under the age of 18. *Blatantly fraudulent or misrepresentative wording, phrases images or graphics There may of course be other things that we are unable to foresee and if this is the case we will try to contact the affiliate in question to resolve the issue as quickly as possible

we just cannot mess around with that type of advertising nor do we wish to tolerate it :)
