not enough interest for us to go to the expense. but there are a lot of us attending. talked to carly and they intend on going as well.
ill talk to jay tomorrow ans see if we can coordinate something for the crew.
reminds me I need to book hotel and air.
I am driving down just so I can spend some extra time with my family and have our car.....I will probably stay somewhere else too, just cause I am el-cheapo these days and $150-200 a room is a bit much for 4 nights

Yeah, for a bus to make sense, we'd need at least a dozen or so, and I'd also hate to see it be a total sausage fest. Little lack of enthusiasm makes me prefer to just fly down and rent something obnoxious to troll around town in while we're there.

Is there a way to bring attention to Atlanta webmasters, models and adult companies in general on this? There has got to be a few hundred people working in adult in the area I would think but at least a few dozen of whom go to shows or are open to the concept?

There are a lot of us in the business here but I dont know that there are many that are show aware. I dont know why you guys dont consider Atlanta as a host city. Every AWE or Webmaster access that was held here was very well attended.

I dont think there are that many to tell you the truth, shows here have done poorly. This is not a mecca for online adult unfortunately. We are going to drive because after the show we are going to miami to shoot.

just FYI, the only shows I have been to in the last 5 years that had more than 200 people are internext and AVN
shows are small these days man, and 200 people is usually a HUGE turnout, 100-150 is a decent size

good luck coming up with a few hundred, its the atlanta myth that its a big adult web town when I bet there are maybe 75 at the most and doing it ft no day job even less.

Not sure what shows you're comparing the Atlanta AWE events to, but outside of Internext and Phoenix, it had as many people as most any of the other shows and more than most.
As for how many in adult industry in Atlanta, I too know of 6 off the top of my head who never post on the boards, and I doubt mine overlap with Jaces at all. But who really cares how many are in Atlanta, the thing is Atlanta draws from the entire southeast. It's a good centralized drive or cheap flight from the region.
The real problem with Atlanta is it's just not adult friendly. We're in the bible belt, getting a hotel who will tolerate "our kind" is a challenge. This is also why there is a stealthiness to a lot of people who work in adult in Atlanta. I personally have dropped good sponsors for sending material to our company mailing address that is obviously adult industry in nature based on the company name, etc.
Other problems in Atlanta are things like downtown rolling up the sidewalks at 10PM. If another show were to be done here, it should be in Buckhead, not downtown, that was a huge error IMO on the part of AWE.

Dont get me wrong I wish all shows were in my backyard but Atlanta is not the place to be to be in the online adult industry.Hotels dont care frolicon which is a swinger bdsm convention has a whole hotel booked.

last few shows I have been to I have been in my room a total of 3-4 hours every 24 hours
hell, redneck getaway a few years back I was in my room maybe 8 hours the entire show....if I didn't pass out on a floor somewhere I would fall asleep by the pool and wake up to someone throwing me in, excellent alarm clock, but not for the easily antagonized

as for that 2257, why even bring up what a website says about company, I know one guy personally from ebonypays.com that lives in Atlanta, and the 2257 link goes to a 2257 OFFICE in Las vegas, where I am sure their corporation is setup, it is a VERY common thing to do, which is why I never go off a 2257 link or a whois to determine where a company is actually based, 2257 and corporate offices are not always where a company is physically based, there are tax and legal reasons for that

Lets all coordinate efforts for a little biz in Tampa. Im sure Jay will accomidate anything we wanna try.
BTW Ive been to 2 of the cybernet expo shows both in San Diego.
I met a few new people made a major deal at both show and it was a great networking event.
Faye and Jay work hard on this show. The seminars are informative. Good topics. The emphasis is on business and networking.
We did a prelim scouting on the show area.
Theres a mall across the street for cheap eats.
The hotel is 5 minutes from the airport.
Close to Mons Venus for the party crowd.
So I think it will be fun and profitable. LOTS of us are going. If your not going you should reconsider. Its a short trip by plane. Some of you guys are driving as well. Tampa in June is bearable.

I’ve never understood why Industry shows (no matter what the Industry) don’t rotate locations from year to year just to “shake the bushes” so to speak. The regulars that attend the shows will always be there no matter where it’s located.

i'm ok with either rotating it, or just put them all in Vegas.
I hate Miami in August, so I rarely do that one. Tampa in June...a bit better, I like Tampa better than Miami....so I'll be there.
Any Vegas show, I at least consider attending and always do the winter show at the minimum.
