Search Engines?
How do they actually work? I assume each one has it's own search code programs scripts and techniques. I hear many webmaster say "I think I got it figured out, but I'm not tellin" story. :o
And then there's the one who actually sit all day :lyn_night attempting to create a script or program that'll outwit The Overrated Google & The Underdog Overture. Ohhh, I almost forgot about The Forgotten MSN. I can see where certain webmasters and programmers make those funny looking search engines outta misspelled url's or a similar url, There must be money in this, cause they're a very popular selling strategies on the internet.
Personally I believe the webmaster took and ran with the overkilled Google PR concept, to where it's become so over saturated on this great Internet. "Ya, just like porn, :wankit: hehe". Well fuck PR's I learned threw self practice and experiences that they really mean... nada, nothing. Just another advertising quimick type promotion tool for them to lure customers and webmaster in with.
The Internet is a pretty simple concept, I believe it's just one humongous marketing tool, and everyone has they're own little ways and ideas of how to lure the surfer towards them. "And I mean they'll try anything man, legal or not" :ban: When I first discovered the www I thought of it as a large information database center where I learn, discover, and seek information. Kinda like the famous yellow pages "Without the PPC idea running it, if ya see what I mean?"
It's simple, The one who controls the traffic, Controls the Internet. right? :kneel:

This is what makes SE's so popular. and if ya don't believe me? then ask Moe, he knows :whistling lol.
I'm no webmaster and I ain't no genius program creator and ya I know.., I'm defiantly not the sharpest knife in the draw,
But the Internet being still so young and still in development why hasn't someone created the tool that'll override SE's?
"And I meant that legally" :mf_pcwhac or couse.

Ideas are a dime a dozen :bulb1: "I have a few of my own", and strategies :bulb2: that they believe will help in there goal of conquering the famous SE's and make a few bucks.

Anyone care to share on they're ideas or something?
I'm not asking for you to divulge your marketing secrets. Just your thoughts for some simpleminded Surmasters here :wnw:

The biggest problem I see with how you are working Search Engines is the fact that you are trying to market others affilaite programs. You are a complete STUD if you can break even while selling others programs.

Too much shaving and other skull duggery going on to do much better than break even selling anything that doesnt belong to you. I stopped trying 2 years ago.

Too many idiots are buying shit like letters of the alphabet and jacking up the bid prices. If you want to play this game I suggest you market your own program or webcam of what ever where you are taking home more than a 50% commission.

And youd better have a nice pile of money to play with that you are willing to lose every cent of before you make one dollar. And youd best be ready for the long haul.

That being said. Google produces a daily landslide of PPC traffic while Yahoo has less traffic but in the past have been more profitable.

Ill add one more tidbit. If your marketing pay per sign up you are a fool as well. You should be trying to break even with the first sign up on your adwords expense and the profit comes in recurring revenue.

Evil Empire Inc. specializes in pay per click campaigns for the past 3 years.
However the one client I have keeps me more than busy and I wouldnt dream of taking on another.

ummmm... affiliate marketing is the most important part of my job. That and having good sites that convert, here is a piece of an ICQ conversation I had with an affiliate of ours today... if this sounds like spam it aint, it is me pointing out that you do not have to be a stud to break even (certain personal info of this affiliate has been censored to protect his privacy)

anon affiliate (10:28:23 17/03/2007)
how many active membrs you have?

ME - aka spazlabz (10:28:46 17/03/2007)
are you asking me how good our recurring is?

anon affiliate (10:29:32 17/03/2007)
i thing how many membrs, who realy promote you. I think you have aprox 4000 membrs but how many realy work

anon affiliate (10:29:55 17/03/2007)
becouse you have very good ratio

ME - aka spazlabz (10:31:18 17/03/2007)
wow, that is a hard question to answer... we do have quite a few webmasters promoting us but i am not really sure how many I would say are aggressively pushing our sites... part of that responsibility is ours... we need to provide the affiliates more tools and we are working on that.
.
and thank you, yes our sites do convert very well I wish more people knew that

He went on to tell me how much money he made and that is not something I would divulge here, but he is doing quite a bit better then breaking even :) and I actually hear stuff like that quite often. There is money to be made as an affiliate and you don't need to be a guru to do it :) :okthumb:

I would point out that for many affiliates breaking even is pretty easy to do since their investment is very little. So all of the above is really just ink.

edit: for it to make any sense at all, you should post some amounts. Because we have no idea who it is, there is no privacy issue. This post is useless without numbers.

Point of the post was specifically about pay per click Search Engine traffic. Or at least my repsonse was. And you better be a goddamn stud if you want to play in that game.

with that said, You mean since it's so cheap of an investment, then also it must be very little the return?

No, I mean breaking even is not a major achievment if you invest very little. How many businesses can you get into for nothing? Hell even Amway will sell you supplies.
Maybe we should be charging for hosted galleries so there is an investment necessary if you want to play. It might cut down on the numbers, but those who sign up would be serious and it would cut down their competition from all the traffic rats who don't have a pot to piss in. Good for everyone. Whaddaya think?

Thats sounds a bit drastic of a quick answer solution, Maybe the way it would work is the more you sale for a specific sponsor, the more access your aloud to better content. I see a few that do this now,
it's a good way of controlling all the free stuff out there.
"Ya don't sell, well ya don't get anymore free promo stuff".
But then if it was like this, then I would have a shitload of blank pages online lol.
Your going towards another direction with this topic though, :)

please? someone?I took a look at Adwords, Overture, etc. a couple of years ago. I ran some numbers for a couple of my top selling programs using figures from my stats for average income per sale, conversion ratios etc. it was pretty clear that the conversion ratios would have to be significantly better to make it worth the extra work to manage PPC campaigns to keep the click cost at an optimum level.

Keep in mind I haven't applied any of the tips, in fact I haven't sat down long enough to take my time to read and absorb it. I skimmed it and saw that it dealt with PPC and I thought you might like to check it out. There might be some nuggets in there, and maybe not.

Also dont forget that both google and yahoo are a huge pain in the ass to deal with unless you have a huge budget. And even then, the rules change constantly. If you get a campaign and keywords that are working, never ever touch 'em and give 'em a chance to re-evaluate.

Hassle to reward factor doesn't pay off short term or on low numbers. I dont like to work all day on something only to yield maybe 2 signups. That doesn't pay my feed bill.
