When G4 bought (ruined) TechTV, Patrick Norton decided not to make the move from San Fran to LA. Leo had already left, Kevin and Patrick were cohosting Screen Savers.

Kevin made the move, and Alex is what they came up with for the new co-host. I'm sure he's a good guy, and no one was going to be able to come from the outside and be accepted in that role. But I think you can see from that clip why the audience was alienated and that spelled the end for The Screen Savers.
