Hi everyone! Hope everyone's been enjoying the holidays, and is looking forward to 2007!
:clapping:

I would like to hear what others have found to be good places to advertise adult websites. I already know about Google Adwords (and Googel Base), as well as textlink advertising (ie, adbrite). They are ok, but didn't give a good retrun.
:thumbdown

I'm looking at putting more focus on advertising in adult only publications. I would like to know which tends to have better results, in regards to sales (these are only examples): paying for advertising on big sites such as playboy and hustler, or paying for advertising in the various local publications? What have your experiences been?

pay to advertise to affiliates

let them market for you. They have a far broader base then what you could probablt afford to advertise to

What spaz says. :okthumb: And I happen to be able to help you in that department. I have 5 different places for you to advertise at including right here at oprano. In addition to Oprano I have Allofem.com, YNotRadio.com, XNations.com and PrivateLabelResources.com. You can see ad rates and information at http://www.theboardbroker.com or contact me at enforcer at theboardbroker.com or ICQ 15559483. I also have contact e-mails listed on the Board Broker site for each place I represent as well.

As a general rule unless you've got a huge strong brand or something VERY unique, print advertising doesn't provide good ROI for websites.

Pretty damn hard to measure ROI for print as well for websites.

I have had the very best ROI from print advertising. Its great for mail order business and sales of tangibles.

Yeah, I'll agree with that.

And might work for amateurs if done correctly and use some psychology. It typically doesn't work worth a shit for general cookie cutter porn though.

You know, I think you are sort of right. Its like all advertising. It is about the pitch. Advertising is all about psychology. I would guarantee you that if you gave me a cookie cutter porn site, I could make you money out of print. Remember, you already have "qualified" customers. They have paid for the magazine. They are not like cheapskate tgp surfers. So you have a much better chance of converting them and turning a real profit.
My sites are only "sort of" amateur and they still sell well on magazines, btw.

I would highly reccomend buying magazine traffic.
