I've got problems with users uploading normal avi and mpg media files and them displaying in ie7 and firefox. Soo I'm looking for a converter to run on the server to convert them to flash video... anyone know of an ap that can do this?

I've looked into FFmpeg, I think it may be the way to go but what a learning curve it looks to be...

A thanks in advance for any kind of info.

Indeed they do, but I want to keep my users on my site.

Hey Trev

I do, but it will take me a second to find it....I was playing with it a while ago and it kicked ass

oh shit, here it was

it wasn't a standalone piece of software, it was a youtube clone script

http://www.sonoho.com/

seemed pretty nice though

Here I was thinking I would never get this sorted, that's just what I'm looking for. Thank you very much and I owe you one ;)
