is illegal. It seems to me that if California is the only place you can do it in the land of the free, then move there. A lot of cohf was shot in Canada where it is legal and I don't think these guys are going to get busted. I like to be very legal myself and would certainly move to a jurisdiction where I could sleep easy staying on the right side of the law.

Good question. To be honest, I'd be willing to bet that most people don't know that California is the only state where it's legal to produce porn.

California is the only state where it's legal to produce porn.

This statement, from my legal understanding, is a half-truth. On a side note, I'm located in California :)

Don't be so quick to judge the COHF guys as guilty.

LA county California is the only place it's 'legal' to produce porn in the US so that makes California the only state where it's legal. All other counties in California and all other states have pandering laws. Hopefully they will win when their case gets to the 11th circuit and then we'll have two counties in the US where it's actually legal.

p.s. I don't think anyone here is judging them, although I sure question their intelligence considering the county they're in.

When I moved to Vancouver last year, there was a news item about a raid on a house in a local suburb. They were looking for a grow op and were disappointed when they only found a bunch of Vietnamese guys making porn, so they left. But then again they hardly pay attention to grow ops anymore since it is our second largest export after lumber.

It's called a calculation of risk vs reward. People KNOW there is a precedant for allowing sexually excplicit performances for money under the 1st amendemt and choose to take the risks and lean on that precedant in their area of the circuit courts despite not having a ruling that covers them. IMHO any interpretation of the 1st amendment HAS to agree with the ruling that covers california but whether people are wiulling to stand behind those beliefs and test them in a court of law is an entirely different matter altogether.
