Oh gotcha! thought i was going to spam didn't ya!

Nope, I want to know what makes the perfect affiliate program/sponsor. Here is what I think would be perfect

offers both PPS and Rev for both non-trial and trials
has fresh sites that are kept fresh with lots of new exclusive content
provides plenty of content for webmasters to use for promotions already prepared for gallery pages with an obvious but unobtrusive watermark/logo
has up to the minute realtime stats that tracks first page hits all the way through to the join page
can even track the hits to their own hosted gallery pages and show the referring URLs
offers FHGs, HFSs and has the ability to generate your own hosted galleries with content and templates the affiliate selects.
offers webmasters sales text for each of their sites.
lots and lots of banners and buttons
multiple tours for each site
a weekly newsletter that provides each webmaster with the newsest galleries and freesites with their affiliate ID inserted into the code already.. can you say copy/paste? as well as company news and announcements that might be of benefit to the webmasters
fast, friendly support for affiliates
fast servers
cascading billing
regularly adding new sites.

that's a lot, but i bet there is a lot more. What would the dream program have?

well... since you asked. :D

• revshare stats that shows active rebills and the original transaction detail
• hosted blogs with RSS feeds that include embedded affiliate codes.
• hosted gallery admin that lets me flag galleries I've already used
• a setting in my account admin that lets me choose my program preference (revshare or PPS, trial or no-trial) for included link codes in newsletters

Support and reps who know what the fuck they are doing
willing to make deals with people who have the traffic to justify it
fast turnaround on e-mail support
don't get rid of old tours when you get new ones just add the new ones as an option
multiple payment methods (wire, check, EPassporte, etc)
at least two pay peridos a month if not weekly
willing to buy advertising at all 4 places I represent including right here at Oprano (really #1) ;>))

Thanks Toby & TheEnforcer, those are really good ideas. I thought i had covered about everything someone could want and I was wrong. I hope a lot of paysite owners see this and get some golden ideas from it :0

ok, i'll be devil's advocate....

you're obviously thinking from the affiliates viewpoint here.

so why not add in free hosting? or better yet a stipend for my bandwidth! say something like $1 toward my hosting bill for every 10K hits I send.

i'd also like $100 per signup, unshaved.

actually i'm not disagreeing with you on what most people view as a good program these days. however, the end result is a broken economic system with a bunch of affiliates that want you to do almost everything for them, yet most can still muster only a signup or two per month.

my opinion is instead of giving them more and more bait, we should stop and spend a little bit of time teaching them how to fish.

One thought, provide downloadable content that at least in part is not available as hosted galleries. That gives gallery and free site builders content to use that isn't getting listed by TGP and Link List owners. This is particularly useful for solo girl sites where buying content isn't really an option.

Second thought, an online tutorial that must be completed before gaining access to said content area.

damn, thats a good idea right there would be a small challenge organizationally to work out... which sets go to the gallery designer, which sets get zipped up sort of thing... but a damn solid idea

And there's the trap...same reason we have tons of free content out there. You have to do what it takes to defend your share of the pie even when you know it's bad business. As long as there's someone out there who can afford to produce it and give it away to get more clicks, you'll have to do the same if you want to get any traffic.

excellent point hellpuppy. On the flip side, my wife is an affiliate of a lot of programs... her biggest complaint... not enough content for her to promote with. And the content we could afford to buy on a personal level is overplayed

I once thought pixmasters was a good deal dude LOL

Here is a true story. We have owned and run at least one gay paysite since 98. We closed our biggest one and dissolved the partnership last month or the beginning of this month.
The most valueable thing we had on that server we kept, which is a forum targetted at the gay video consuming market. It has literally sat there for years being popular and not making money because we just did hard link traffic trades.

Since the paysite closed down we had to move the forum to a new server and during the move we made it a members only type of deal. We preserved the members based we had but over the course of the last two week have had 3000+ new members join. I told her to start promoting good gay sites on it. So she approached one program with what I consider to be a simple request. Please give us some hosted trailers for us to promote with... she was turned down flat...
silly bidness descision i think
guess what, she did not have problems finding other sponsors who would gladly take advantage of that, as of yet, untapped but highly loyal and quality traffic source.

Would you mind emphasizing more about that last sentence?
I mean, how would you go about attempting this, without divulging your personal system used? isn't it kinda like
"Why should I teach anyone to fish? leaving less fish in the water for me to catch?"
