A FORMER PORN STAR and a body-building dominatrix have lined up to run for Nevada governor. According to AP, "Former porn star Mimi Miyagi (http://mimi4governor.com/) of Las Vegas filed Friday as a Republican candidate for governor, with a campaign slogan of 'For the bare and honest truth' and an entourage that included a cheering section of 'campaign cuties,' two bodyguards and a makeup artist. Miyagi signed up a few days after Leola "Muscles" McConnell (http://mcconnellforgovernor.com/), a Las Vegas bodybuilder who prefers the term "domina" to dominatrix, got into the crowded race as a Democrat. They're among nine candidates who filed for governor."
McConnell has already picked her presidential candidate: "I'm going with Russell Feingold of Wisconsin and a strong liberal woman outsider like Jessica [Lange] or Susan [Sarandon] to be his VP and keep him focused so he doesn't get into the normal testosterone laced pissing contests with the Republicans. Every now and again no doubt he'll need a good slap "up-side his head" to . . . stay focused on the affairs of the people. How easily they forget why they're there."
Migayi's platform includes an "Anti-Stalking Legislature" [sic]; reduced waiting time processing police reports for victims of crime; tougher laws on domestic violence abusers; legalizing strip clubs in hotels; free speech; reducing prices at the pump and reducing youth gang violence. Migayi is also running a first man search on her internet site. It is unclear what his duties will be.
McConnell - who notes that "a hard woman is good to find" - has been linked to several sexual rumors about leading Republicans which, much as one might like to be true, have yet to be confirmed.
One may reasonably assume that McConnell - who can already leg press 540 pounds for five reps (http://beautifuldommemuse.tripod.com/) - and Migayi aren't really looking so much for more power as much as more publicity.
