I do not claim to be an industry heavy. I do not claim to have made xxx thousands of dollars a day, week, or month when everything I did was adult related. Even so, the only time anyone ever brought up how much money I (didn't) make was when they couldn't think of anything else to rebut an arguement, if they even read the initial post right.
If the babble I've been reading lately is the future of the adult web, we're in trouble. I haven't always agreed with the tactics of some of those who have now departed, but as far as a lack of tolerance to the stupid and the mediocre, I agree with them 100%. As silly as the antics of the old guard have been, the shrill whining from the new guard keeps one phrase coming to mind - channel the Governator when he uttered the famous phrase "girlie men."
I'm not really worried. What I've been reading lately isn't anything close to the future of the adult web - far from it. There are plenty of boards out there that consist of a single heavy hitter and a bunch of bleating sheep who hope to snag a little fresh grass while waiting to be sheared. As long as you keep telling yourselves you're too cool to be in school, you will be.

That's what makes up a board, a group of people with similar interests and varying talents sharing information and ideas.

I have landed 2 of (what could be) the biggest money deals of my life because of this board, and that was in the past 2 months...so no matter what anyone says, or no matter how hard people try to make this place out to be negative, I will always be proud to call Oprano my home

One day he heard from two swindlers named Rhetoricol and Beshop that they could make the finest suit of clothes from the most beautiful cloth. This cloth, they said, also had the special capability that it was invisible to anyone who was either stupid or not fit for his position.
Being a bit nervous about whether he himself would be able to see the cloth, the board owner first sent two of his trusted men to see it, Jaci and Rcourto. Of course, neither would admit that they could not see the cloth and so praised it. All the townspeople had also heard of the cloth and were interested to learn how stupid their neighbors were.
The board owner then allowed himself to be dressed in the clothes for a procession through town, never admitting that he was too unfit and stupid to see what he was wearing. For he was afraid that the other people would think that he was stupid.
Of course, all the townspeople wildly praised the magnificent clothes of the emperor, afraid to admit that they could not see them, until a boy said:
"But he has nothing on"!
This was whispered from person to person until everyone in the crowd was shouting that the board owner had nothing on. The board owner heard it and felt that they were correct, but held his head high and finished the procession. Rhetoricol and Beshop escaped during the procession when they realized they had been found out.

There is no such thing as a surfmaster. It is a confection created by a bunch of bitter "experienced" scammers and spammers who have all but fucked the internet in the past and from whose damage it is finally recovering.
This is not a fairy tale. As for banning? Nick, Serge et al all banned. So if you gotta a pipe, grandpa, stick that in it and smoke it. As for experience? I would guess that many of us have as much if not more than you do and have been surviving and prospering on the internet since the last freeking century. There are lots of ways of making money on the net. A board where every can be listened to benefits all. It is not just noobs vs....fuck I have no idea what to call you...old timers just doesn't cut it. Sure there are lots of stupid questions get asked and it does get boring. But I have heard a lot more stupid advice on this board and that gets even more boring.
Oprano can be a great resource if it isn't fucked with and let to grow on its own and not taken down in a battle royal by a bunch of WWE rejects.

OK, you remember that mirror you mentioned? Have a look and I think you will see part of the problem. So, you are either part of the problem or part of the solution. Otherwise you are pissing up a rope and there are a ton of places to rant about how it used to be. This is a good chance to make amends I would think. I fully expect there will be a lot of business transacted on this board in the future by those of us who live and work in the new reality of internet business and are flexible enough to carry on into the future. Laurels get old really fast on the internet. Your only as good as your next project.
