It's not just "their time and money spent", so no harm done.

Their half-assed efforts hurt every adult webmaster out there. Their desperate trickery turns surfers off and makes them scared to death to surf adult sites, much less actually pull out the card and pay to join one. Their 50-pic extreme hardcore galleries complete with cumshot allows hundreds of guys to whack off for free rather than handing over money to a paysite for a join.

And I'm sorry, but if you want to learn the basics, then Oprano isn't the place to do it. It never has been. I don't give a shit if the supposed "future" of the board is supposed to be newbie haven, it ain't gonna happen. There are better places for newbies to go where they will learn more from people who are more than happy to teach them. The folks here have reams of info to gleen but you have to actually have a clue before you'll even understand what they're saying.

Every board has its place. Every board has a "flavor" of regulars. All boards can't be the same, and no board can be every thing to every webmaster.
That should really be considered long and hard before making any changes to a long-standing board - whether it's very profitable or not. If the board has a history and a "flavor" and a unique atomosphere, then changing that atomosphere should be the *last* thing to look at/try. Changing the methods of advertising should be the first.
