I'm really not going to take too much offense to that since it was the Growth competitive index that those are the top 4 for... :) My bad.

China has passed the UK into 4th place.

Yet the GDP per person in China is still lower the Brazil.

China has a surplus of human capital. It is predicted that by 2016 China will be the largest economy in the world - yet the average Chinaman will still live in poverty.

My prediction is that China will not be able to keep up this level of growth for 10 years. I also predict they will have more and more internal problems. While we may not see them on our TVs as we did in the past, it will happen. Capitalism however will triumph, and will flood all China institutions including the communist government eventually.

I think its fair to group all the EU countries into one unite, which will make the EU and the US almost the same size, with China and Japan behind.

EU Constitution was rejected by the French. The EU is heading towards failure.

What is the average unemployment in France, Germany?

Europe's growth is coming from Eastern Europe, and Ireland.

Agreed that the EU have had a major set back, and that the current growth in the EU is pathetic. However the economic integration between the many EU countries have already moved far ahead, so to look at the different countries in EU as sovereign nations would be wrong.

I don't think it is. Sending a bad constitution back to the drawing boards is what saved the EU :)

Possibly, but I do not see much momentum to do anything about it.

I read somewhere that the EU Constitution is several hundred pages long. This could be part of the problem.

This is exactly the problem... the average citizen either doesn't have the time or the academic background to be able to comprehend it.

Why vote Yes if you don't have a clue what you're voting for, it's like voting for an anonymous presidential candidate.
