I'm sick of working construction/beer & wine jobs for a cheque that doesn't even last a weekend. So, like millions of others I sparked a joint and started thinking..

music? Nah, the only noise I like making is the sound of my farts against a hard flat surface. And the sound of my own voice.. when i'm not singing.

drugs? I like to do them, but doing them makes me too paranoid to sell them. Plus if you put a wig on me im a dead ringer for Natalie Portman so jails not an option.

But then it came to me.. porn. Ah yes, the dream of a newb. I don't know a whole lot about the industry because i've never been in it (not really anyways, submitted some galleries for a bit then got fired). But thanks to your guys constant threads of knowledge hopefully I can get a firm grasp and start out small.

I guess this post is half introduction half thanks.

Now to figure out a decent domain name. I registered jerkoffmaterial.com a couple years ago but didn't do anything with it, so now it's lost.

Any tips or suggestions (covering anything) for a starter would be great. I'm sure these posts are annoying to many so I'll leave it at that. Maybe what I need is a porn sensay.

Starter advice: Expect to do a lot of your own research to find answers. People here are social but they also have business to attend to. Some folks will be helpful and others will probably tell you to take a flying leap. Ok your probably as well equiped as you will ever be to deal with everyone.. haha.. Welcome to Oprano.

As Hammer said, don't go the tgp route, it is a dead end these days for newbs

all in all, you are in for a hard road, the adult biz ain't what it used to be, you just can't fire up a site anymore and expect it to make money, I know guys that have been doing this 2 years now and still don't make enough to quit their day jobs....the adult industry is flooded with people coming in thinking it is the easiey money in the world, but in all honesty a job at McDonalds would work out better for most if you are expecting to get cash quick

If I were you, I would start submitting galleries again, get going good so you are up to 4-5 a day..then go from there...gallery submitting is an excellent way to see if you have the patience for the online adult world, because there are a lot of tasks in this biz that are tedious and long, and gallery submitting is the bext one to get going with

blogs seems to be a big thing now, just install wordpress and get linked up, and just update a lot

i don't know though....honestly, if I was just starting out in this biz and knew everything I knew currently, I probably wouldn't do it again...I would follow another path that was laid out for me...but that is me, and you are you

Good point about blogs, Jace and probably the best way to go for anyone that can write. Based on his opening post I'd say it might be a good way for Monkeyboy to go.

I think I would recommend going with freesites instead of galleries though, because without some good partner accounts, he'll need to buy spots or pay for partner accounts and I wouldn't recommend that to anyone that doesn't already know that their galleries will convert.

Awesome Hammer, thanks for the info. I'll have to start looking into these blogs and what they're about. Any examples? Writing is something I love to do, and i've actually had some pretty successful (traffic/reader wise) websites (pheends.org, which has been dead for a couple years now).

Yeah, I bet I have NEWB written all over me. But that's cool, i'm not a quitter and I don't plan on starting now.
