xPeeps tops 65,000 members

I just thought everyone would get a kick out of this number. xPeeps.com was launched on January 1, 2006. In the last four months it has picked up 65,000 accounts and still growing.

Also Fusionx made an announcement on xPeeps.com this morning that xPeeps sister site qPeeps.com is now open. qPeeps.com has been built for a gay audience and we expect it to grow quickly as well.

Jace can select "Manage Friends" and move users back and forth between Friends and xPeeps. You can do the same. It was done this way so if you as an industry person have a friend on your list that is not in the industry but they said there were.. you can moved them from xpeep to friend and they can't stop you. What you sign up as is what you say you are.. what category someone ends up in is whatever you think they should be in. It makes the site usable.. you can put people in the category they should be in.

You can't keep anyone from doing anything. The site is built for adults and there isn't an option of creating an account for anything under the age of 18. If they create an account they are saying they are 18 or older.

If you create a profile and say your 18 then go post in that profile that you are less than 18 we are deleting the profile. As far as content is concerned.. the site is free. We don't censor. Yahoo is not responsible if it links to an illegal site because they don't review each and every site before they link to it. They don't maintain the content on the sites. Same goes with their newsgroups.. we are operating under the same guidelines. We delete it when we are made aware of it.

We do take is serious but we can't id people at the door.

i would think that would be the parents job anyway....while I try and put protections in place so minors don't access my content, I feel it is ultimately up to the parent to do their job

In an ideal world yes. I admit that the laws scare me at times. It’s like the whole credit card thing to verify age. Meanwhile the community sites can do what they want (yahoo, etc.). It all seems way out of control & something is bound to happen. I’ve seen this pattern before.



I still think that they should create categories and levels of adult. Then police the tags at the ISP level. Allow it to be an individuals choice and not a states or area.
