British philanthropist, Sir Isaac Wolfson who was asked his occupation by a total stranger. Sir Isaac replied:

“ I am a writer “

“That’s interesting “ said the stranger, “ tell me what you write “

“ I write cheques “ replied Sir Isaac.

....your ad may be a fake or otherwise not legitimate.

I've sent you three e-mails expressing my interest in your opportunities, and I have all the experience you can possibly want. YET I HAVE GOTTEN NO RESPONSE. I also had a writer-friend (with plenty of experience) send you an e-mail, and SHE too reports that she's heard NOTHING from you. And yet, the Feb. 1 issue of Writers' Weekly is running your ad again. I can understand if I and my friend reported that we have little to no experience. But we both cited our experience--and the fact that we've been ignored really raises a red flag.

This leads me to conclude that your "company" is illegitimate. I will promptly contact Writers' Weekly and request that they post some kind of "warning" by your listing. They DO this every now and then with questionable ads. Sometimes they remove them altogether. This site takes things very seriously, and it's obvious your enterprise is less than legit.

I did not promise a reply to every person who responds to me. Neither does anyone else when it comes to this business or any other. Are you 12yrs old or what? Furthermore, I did not post ANYTHING on "Writers Weekly", nor have I ever been to that site.

You mentioned in your e-mail, "morning coffee ad" which again is something know nothing about. I did not post anything anywhere other than in one single place on the web. If it was posted somewhere else, the site admins or someone took the ad and reposted it for their own reasons. Owning many websites, I can guess that they are concerned with the volume of their own content/job posting as it relates directly to website traffic, user returns and ultimately revenues.

Good luck with whatever protesting you intend to do to websites I know nothing about.

PS... your e-mail, behavior/tone, wrong assumptions, big/bold/awkward text and capitalized words make you look like a lunatic that is both desperate and new to writing, not someone who is worth the trouble of trying to work with regardless of your "experience".

1) Go to www.writersweekly.com It's amazing you don't know when a website is running your own information.

2) Big bold "awkward" type is a lot easier to read for people, and allows them to lean back comfortably in their seats while reading; whereas plain 10-12 point forces many people to lean forward to view the screen. Also, my "awkward" type finally got you to respond. (Have you caught your breath yet?)

3) I've had tons of publications and do not expect from people what I myself don't deliver, i.e., promptness. Never mind that you didn't promise a reply. The fact is, I indicated all the experience you were seeking. Just WHAT are you looking for? Well, at an offer of 12 cents per word, you will get what you pay for. I was willing to settle for this. But the writers you do decide to contact, I guarantee, THEY are the "desperate ones" new to writing, because most seasoned, skilled writers will ignore an ad offering only 12 cents per word. Thus, good luck to YOU.

I can understand that it might be "amazing" that I don't know when a web site reposts an ad from another site if I was running the LaToya Jackson Psychic Network but sadly, I don't. If I did, I'd probably be too busy betting on sports and buying stocks to reply to this. As it is, I was sitting here... irretrievably bored and torn between watching late night infomercials or amusing myself with you. You probably saved me from purchasing a knife set or Elvis collectible plate. Those knives do look amazing... I guess they can cut through a nail and then slice through a tomato like butter. WOW!

I also enjoy your self deprecating sense of humor and did not miss the irony in your remarks that only a desperate writer would reply, even though you were the only one who replied twice. Thanks for the smiles.

i can't stop people from replying to me. every freelance writing site stole the ad that was posted on craigs list. i get like 30-50 replies per day a few weeks after it was posted. its totally bizarre.

i dont care if you post in on WT... be my guest. :)

i am not going to argue with him though. like him, i also understand the finer points of marxism and have even read all of lenins works (in english and russian) and am not really concerned with his views on how to make the world a better place by overpaying employees with no regard to the market, the demand and what makes sense financially for the business.
